I got this issue on both MSI and ASUS boards with some G.Skill Samsung kits before. Bios update at some point fixed this issue. Also swapping out the memory kit with other Hynix based kits also fixed the reboot issue. Is that possible to try with other memory kits?
I believe AGESA 1.0.0.7c has fixed this issue. However, this issue might re-occur with some recent bios. Find a non-beta bios with AGESA 1.0.0.7c.
Also, not all DDR5 kits doing that. Only Samsung or G.Skill kit are affected with this bug. You may consider returning the ram kit to get a decent...
"6000MHz C36 DDR5 memory" is often too much for the ram itself.
There are 2 types 6000MT/s. One is CL36, the other is CL30.
CL36s are usually made of Samsung dies. They barely reach 6000MT/s CL36. That's why I say it is too much for the ram itself.
I highly recommend to get CL30 ones.
PCH temp is not my concern, even when encoding.
My concern is the CPU temp at idle. 55C at idle with 360mm AIO, due to IOD hotspot. I know my AIO is not bad as all the Cores sit below 40C.
Temps, on idle
Intel chip scales with temperature. The lower the temperature, the higher memory clock that you can go. If you delid it and put a chiller on it. It can go 8400+ stable. Also silicone lottery is a real thing. It gives advantage to someone has relationships with retailers or manufacturers that can...
I don't have any LGA1700. In the past, I rely on ASUS color code to indicate if a voltage is safe.
White is for looser.
Yellow is too low.
Red is just right. :D
Purple is too high.
It is amazing that 1st gen DDR5 AMD cpus can do 8000 with a proper 2-dimm board.
For the future, the sweet spot should be around 7200 and up. The major change comparing DDR4 is that DDR5 halves the length of Command and Address bus. I would expect it will run double the speed of DDR4.
The layout mainly depends on the cpu pin out. VRM should be near to the cpu power plane, the dram dimms should be near the cpu dram interface. You get the idea. Thus, unless intel or amd change the cpu pin out first, you won't see major layout change from the boards.
One thing I want to add...
