Sharp can be set forced OFF/ON in DLSSTweaks btw, so he tells 2.5.1 and earlier only :

; OverrideSharpening: allows overriding the DLSS sharpening applied to the image
; This only affects pre-2.5.1 DLSS versions, v2.5.1 and later versions removed sharpening from DLSS (use sharpening available in NV control panel instead)
;
; Value can be from -1.0 to 1.0, negative numbers will apply a softening filter, while positive ones will sharpen
; (eg. setting to 0.64 will apply 64% sharpening filter)
; Can usually be changed during gameplay fine, by simply editing the INI file
; (you may need to set a value to this first before starting game though, in order for the DLSS sharpening flag to be set)
;
; Usage:
; - Set to a value from -1.0 to 1.0 to apply softening or sharpening
; - Set to 0 to disable softening/sharpening (will leave any DoSharpening DLSS flag in place though, which may still affect image)
; - Set to "disable" to completely force the sharpening flag to be disabled (this will prevent changing OverrideSharpening during gameplay)
; - Set to "default" (or comment out the line) to prevent this override from applying, leaving the value at whatever game sets for it
OverrideSharpening = Default

No, it depends of if game calls Sharpen only, not a 3.7 change (emoose).

Yay more pixel peeping, I honestly wonder sometimes if ppl play games with a magnifying glass in hand and constantly stoping the game to look around for such stuff.
At that point I'm not even sure if you are enjoying the game itself or not, for me these differences are borderline impossbile to spot while playing a game I'm immersed in so basically free performance.
Not to mention that TAA has its own issues too which I can notice even easier than those from DLSS.
Look, if you don't notice these things in action, that's great - I'm honestly even slightly envious! I always do and I don't even need to stop the game and pixel peep, ghosting just always pops out. And boy is it ugly and annoying for my eyes. I'm much less annoyed by jaggies, for example. I'm tired of being forced to choose between blurry trash with TAA or ghosting nightmares with upscalers, often a mixture of both. All I want is again to be able to look at a super crisp picture in a new game, haha, it was a great experience when I first bought a 4K screen and I'm still impressed when I play older games. Stuff looks amazing when it's not ruined by TAA or upscalers! Will it be less impressive without extra effects and whistles? Alright, I can live with it, but the devs don't even give me (or others) the option, lol.

Depends on the game, I guess. In The Outer Worlds SCE, when using a mod to convert FSR to DLSS, preset E fixes some of the most extreme cases of ghosting.

(Look at the ghosting in the eyes when the character blinks.)

Preset D:

Preset E:

This is the most extreme difference I was able to spot.

I lterraly never seen that before, the eye goes from black back to image, i never use FSR btw, it that what FSR looks like at his worst ?.. i seen it in Robocop, it was ugly and i didn't even wanna play, also game is crappy (not mine tho).

I play games when final patch is done, mostly, i hate bugs, time loss for player and frustrating.

Nope. FSR doesn't have this problem in this game. This is how DLSS preset D looks like when using the "FSR2 Bridge" mod to convert FSR to DLSS in this game. (This game only supports FSR, so this mod is needed to get DLSS.) The mod was initially made for Starfield, but it works in many other games as well.

I think Ray Reconstruction needs a lot more work than DLSS. If you think DLSS is ghosty and blurry, which it can be, go examine RR.
RR works without RT or PT in Cyberpunk 2077. Parts of the image that would flicker are stabilized by RR but it adds an insane amount of ghosting whether using RT or not. Getting in a car, panning the camera to a side view and just wiggling the tires makes them pretty much disappear into a tire colored blur. Look at people's faces while they're walking from different distances, they just melt away and ghost.
I think all this tech needs sliders instead of predefined choices. Like if DLAA is just keeping me right under my target fps but DLSSQ at 66% resolution takes me way above my target fps then I want to be able to set it to 85% or 90% render scale. Some games don't even expose DLAA so a slider would be fantastic.

Yeah having options are the best imo and yeah I guess I'm lucky that I'm not bothered by any of the DLSS stuff so this saves me a lot of money 'which I don't have much to begin with' not having to straight out upgrade my GPU for new more demanding/shitty optimized games and I can just use DLSS and prolong that.
What I find sad tho is that there are still ppl who would call you stupid or blind for liking upscalers in general when it does help a lot of ppl with weaker hardware and whatnot. 'Yeh games could be better optimized nowadays but I don't belive that the upscalers are to be blamed for that, we had really bad optimized games way before any of the upscaling stuff'

For Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, is it ok i only overwrite 2 files with these new 3.7 files please? I don't know Preset E etc. I am using DLSS Quality or sometimes DLSS DLAA on settings depending on airport. There are 2 DLAA on different places, one is near TAA FXAA, other is under DLSS options. I am confused as hell. 7800X3D 4070

You can opt for "yes" or "no" (for RTX owners, of course)

It's that simple.

Today I played two hours of Armored Warfare and in no battle did I manage to track my achievements. The concentration is so great that even the naked Miss World would go unnoticed.
Playing or looking for dodgy pixels with a magnifying glass?

Does the patching method work for DLSS 1.0 games?

FF15 e.g. is DLSS 1 only. Although I cant try it on that as that game bizarrely locks it to 4k output only.

NO, it never could be from 1.x to 2.x, and read that :

SKIP DLSS v1.x (tied to isp file ?), won't launch/crash...
... even worst, MHW (no crash like MEx) has CAS fidelity ingame setting, nothing talks about DLSS :\

Metro Exodus\nvngx_dlisp.dll
Metro Exodus\nvngx_dlss.dll
1.0.9.0 // ISP (v1.x thingie)
1.0.11.0 // old

Monster Hunter World\nvngx_dlisp.dll
Monster Hunter World\nvngx_dlss.dll
1.2.17.0 // ISP (v1.x thingie)
1.1.13.0 // next is last v1.2.14

I still play without using DLSS in any game, never once had any graphical issues because of it.

AUtoLoad last version(s):
Copy 3.7.0+ nvngx_dlss.dll (renamed to 160_E658703.bin) into:
C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA\NGX\models\dlss\versions\198400\files\160_E658703.bin

Open:
C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA\NGX\models\nvngx_config.txt
Add these lines to the [dlss] section:
app_E658703 = 3.7.0
app_E658703_forced = 3.7.0

If the DLSS overlay shows a different id than E658703 you might need to change the filename and INI names.

For anyone using fsrbridge you don't actually need dlsstweaks. Just create preset_overload.txt with E as its contents placed in the same folder. Verify with the dlss overlay that you have preset E.

Are you crazy?! For a million bucks I'll make up differences if I have to. I'll even tell you the one on left looks like a 3 year old's drawing while the one on the right looks like a photograph :p

I took some time and the only difference I see in any of the pics is loads more aliasing in the 4th pic on DLSS 3.7 in the streetlight bars. That would be noticeable in-game as a shimmering at certain LODs but otherwise the compression in the screencaps (either from capture or the image processing the cap) drowns out any real differences. I'll need to try it out in-game to see if there's any noticeable difference but as with RT effects, when I'm actually immersed in playing the game the biggest difference in IQ I usually see is FPS.

Iv noticed an improvement with avatar frontiers of pandora. Compared to 3.5.10 having issues with certain objects with movement and ground details lacking compared to plant and structure textures also looks better in Warhammer vermintide 2

This is not a jab at you personally more like in general.
I've already updated my Forbidden West with this new 3.7.0 version even tho the game already looked nice with whatever version it was shipped.
You can spot several problems with DLSS in several games, and not only on long distance.
What doesn't really make sense is people to buy overpriced GPUs and expensive 4K monitors to have to play games with an option with degraded graphics

If you are actively looking for those then sure, my point was that during actual gameplay when you enjoy yourself playing the game they are much less visible than on zoomed in stand still screens or whatever.
Yeah they are effectively invisible to me when I game but hey thats just what MY eyes are telling me don't let me tell you otherwise. :) 'whats not invisible to me is the TAA texture/object flickering so again, preferences and what each person can notice/tolerate'

Tbh even if I had a 4k monitor and say a 4090 I would still use DLSS or DLAA regardless, at that resolution I would literally need a magnifying glass to notice anything different so why not use it then. 'even if only to fix the said flickers'

Btw, Welcome to TPU!;)
