Display specialist AOC is excited to unveil two new ultra-high definition (UHD) monitors designed for home and office users: the 27" (68.6 cm) AOC U27B3A and U27B3AF. Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA), a global leader in the projector and display markets, today announced the launch of the new Sharp P Series projectors - the XP-P601Q and XP-P721Q. The new P Series projectors are the first Sharp projectors developed leveraging more than 35 years of projector experience from NEC. The Sharp P Series projectors provide viewers with a stunning 4K ultra high-definition (UHD) image that is bright enough for commercial use across a number of industries and signage applications, including in corporate conference rooms, museums, and higher education classrooms.

The new Sharp P Series projectors create a picture that will leave a lasting impression, with the 6,000-lumen P601Q model and the 7,200-lumen P721Q model delivering incredibly sharp and crisp quality even in well-lit settings. This makes the Sharp P Series projectors ideal for corporate settings and higher education classrooms, as well as fast-growing, emerging markets such as museums and golf simulators, which have seen expansive growth in both consumer and commercial markets.

In addition to its range of QD-OLED monitors, MSI was showing a pair of more traditional gaming monitors at Computex. The first one is the MPG 321CUPF which is built around a dual-mode VA panel, which should be one of the first of its kind. It can do either 4K at 160 Hz or 1080p at 320 Hz, both with a 0.5 ms response time. The panel has a 1500R curvature, but somewhat disappointingly, it's only DisplayHDR 400 certified, suggesting it's an edge lit display. It has a pair of HDMI 2.1 inputs, one DP 1.4, one USB Type-C with DP Alt-mode and 15 Watts of USB PD charging and a headphone jack. It also has a console mode which is a 120 Hz 1080p or 4K mode for consoles. According to TFTCentral, it will retail for US$500, but there's currently no fixed launch date.

The next model on display is the MAG 274URFW which is a 27-inch Rapid IPS panel, also with 4K resolution and a 160 Hz refresh rate and a 0.5 ms response time. Connectivity and overall features remains identical to the MPG 321CUPF, but MSI has also thrown in AMD FreeSync Premium here, something that the company hasn't listed as a feature on any of the other models it was showing at Computex. No word on pricing on availability on this model, but as per the picture below, the MAG 274URFW will be avilable in white. MSI also announced some productivity monitors, all of which come with at least a 100 Hz refresh rate, which is refreshing to see (pun intended), since most productivity monitors tend to be stuck at 60 or at best 75 Hz.

Silicon Motion Technology Corporation, a global leader in designing and marketing controller solutions for display interface and NAND storage, today announced the launch of the SM770 USB display interface SoC for USB docking stations to simplify connectivity for multiple 4K Ultra-High Definition Displays, with low latency and low power consumption.

The new SM770 is a high-performance USB Display interface SoC that supports up to three concurrent 4K UHD (3840x2160@60p) displays, leveraging Silicon Motion's innovative CAT (Content Adaptive Technology) and employs multiple image and video processing algorithms to compress display data and minimize bandwidth usage to deliver ultra-low latency from the computer to the monitors. By transferring most of the compression work to a hardware accelerator, CAT technology operates more efficiently and reduces the CPU load.

At Computex 2024, ASUS unveiled major updates to its popular laptop lineups, designed for the "Copilot+" era of AI computing. The first is the Zenbook S16 is a premium 16-inch laptop series powered by AMD's latest Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processors with dedicated AI acceleration. Acer today announced the launch of its new eco-friendly Vero projectors, designed to elevate home entertainment experiences while minimizing their environmental impact. Two new models are equipped with 4K UHD resolution and HDR10 compatibility to deliver stunning visuals and enhanced brightness with 4000 ANSI lumens from its laser/LED hybrid light source. The Acer Vero HL6810ATV comes with an Acer-exclusive Android TV embedded dongle design, giving users access to smart home features at their fingertips.

In line with the Vero line's advocacy for sustainability, the new laser projectors are designed to consume less power without sacrificing performance and offer long-lasting brightness consistency with up to a 30,000-hour lifespan. Their hybrid light source is also 100% mercury-free and the devices incorporate post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic in their chassis and recycled paper for packaging.

LG Display, the world's leading innovator of display technologies, announced today the unveiling of a large number of its next-generation OLED and cutting-edge display technologies at SID Display Week 2024 in San Jose, California from May 14-16. LG Display is allowing visitors to experience new OLED technologies under the theme "A Better Future," ranging from OLEDoS for VR to large-sized OLED panels that go beyond the limits of picture quality and automotive display solutions that are optimized for Software Defined Vehicles (SDV).

The company's latest innovations include a new technology, OLEDoS for VR, which is being shown to the public for the first time and features dramatically increased screen brightness and resolution compared with the existing standard. Despite being the size of a coin at 1.3-inch, it achieves an ultra-high brightness of 10,000 nits and an ultra-high resolution of around 4,000 ppi, which is in the 4K class. In addition, its color expression accuracy is realized by meeting more than 97% of the DCI-P3 standard color area of the Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI). All these enable more lifelike virtual reality with industry-leading picture quality.

Radxa is a Chinese manufacturer of various Arm based devices and something of a minor competitor to the Raspberry Pi Foundation. The company has just launched its latest product which is called the ROCK 5 ITX. As the name implies, it's a Mini-ITX form factor motherboard, which in itself is rather unusual for Arm based hardware to start with. However, Radxa has designed the ROCK 5 ITX to be a NAS motherboard and this is the first time we've come across such a product, as most Arm based boards are either intended for hobby projects, software development or routers. This makes the ROCK 5 ITX quite unique, at least based on its form factor, as it'll be compatible with standard Mini-ITX chassis.

The SoC on the board is a Rockchip RK3588 which sports four Cortex-A76 cores at up to 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8 GHz. This is not exactly cutting edge, but should be plenty fast enough for a SATA drive based NAS. The board offers four SATA 6 Gbps connectors via an ASMedia ASM1164 controller, each with an individual power connector next to it. However, Radxa seems to have chosen to use fan-header type power connectors, which means it'll be hard to get replacement power cables. The board also has a PCIe 3.0 x2 M.2 slot for an NVMe drive. The OS boots from eMMC and Radxa supports its own Roobi OS which is Debian Linux based.

MSI today introduced the MAG 274UPF E2, a 27-inch monitor offering 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) resolution, and a high refresh-rate thanks to its Rapid IPS panel. From the looks of it, this is a "lite" variant of the MPG 274URF that the company unveiled earlier this week, since the two appear to feature the same body design, and mostly the same specs sheet, with the exception of Quantum Dot and USB-C PD single cable input for the MPG display.

The supposedly more affordable MAG 274UPF E2 still gives you 4K Ultra HD with an impressive 160 Hz refresh-rate, and 0.5 ms (GTG) response time, VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, VESA Adaptive Sync support, 178° viewing angles, and wide color gamut with its 10 bpc (1.07 billion colors) palette. Display inputs are similar to the MPG 274URF, with a DisplayPort 1.4a (needed for 4K @ 160 Hz), two HDMI 2.1, and USB-C. Unlike with the MPG 274URF, the USB-C input on the MAC 274UPF doesn't support 65 W PD, and hence single-cable operation isn't possible, you'll need to plug in the display to its own AC source. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Today, Logitech International introduced Mevo Core, the next generation live streaming camera in the Mevo ecosystem. MeLE, designers of mini PCs, and industrial PCs, unveiled the Fanless Stick PC PCG02 Pro. Measuring 146 mm x 61 mm x 20 mm (LxWxH), this thing is about the size of two smartphones duct-taped together, but weighing as much as one (since there's no battery inside). Under the hood is an Intel N100 "Alder Lake-N" processor, which features one "Gracemont" E-core cluster for a 4-core/4-thread CPU, and an Intel Xe LP-based iGPU with 24 execution units. The N100 in the MeLE PCG02 Pro is wired to 8 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR4X-4266 memory. Storage is in the form of 128 GB or 256 GB of eMMC. The device comes with Windows 11 Home single language pre-installed.

The Fanless Stick PC PCG02 Pro comes with an impressive set of connectivity for its size. Networking options include Wi-Fi 5 ac + Bluetooth 5.1, and a 1 GbE wired Ethernet. Display outputs include two HDMI 2.1, which can power a pair of 4K Ultra HD displays at 60 Hz, each. USB connectivity includes two USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) type-A ports; and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) type-C. There is a second type-C port used for power input through any USB PD 3.0 source that can deliver 25 W. A power adapter is included. Depending on the memory- and storage size opted for, the Fanless Stick PC PCG02 Pro is priced between USD $270 to $290. It can power a range of applications between home-entertainment (it's completely fanless), through digital signage, or even most office applications.

For those of you that have been waiting patiently for the first DisplayPort 2.1 monitors to start arriving, we have good news as Gigabyte has revealed details of its first display equipped with DP 2.1. The monitor in question is the AORUS FO32U2P which also sports a 4K QD-OLED panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate. The 31.5-inch QD-OLED panel does follow the standard feature set with a 10-bit panel, 250 cd/m² brightness, 1.5 million to one contrast ratio, 0.03 ms GTG response time and a DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. Gigabyte has gone for an anti-reflective coating as well, which might not appeal to everyone.

As for the inputs, the DP2.1 ports support the full UHBR20 spec, which is 80 Gbps of total bandwidth over four 20 Gbps DisplayPort lanes, which means Gigabyte hasn't skimped on anything here. Yes, you read that correctly as well, the monitor has two DP 2.1 inputs, one full size and one mini DP input and there's also a USB Type-C input that supports DP-Alt mode, in addition to 65 W USB Power Delivery and USB data, although it's not clear if this port also supports DP 2.1. Furthermore, there are two HDMI 2.1 ports, one upstreams and two downstreams USB 3.2 ports, as well as a headphone and microphone jack. Gigabyte has also equipped the AORUS FO32U2P with a pair of 5 W speakers and a stand that offers tilt, swivel, pivot and height adjustments. The maximum power usage is said to be 78 W, but this shouldn't include the USB PD part. Other features include KVM support, daisy-chaining via a DP output, picture in picture and picture by picture support and various gaming features such as crosshairs, night vision, black equalizer etc. Gigabyte has as yet to announce official pricing on a release date.

Update Mar 5th: We've received additional details on the DisplayPorts of the AORUS FO32U2P from Gigabyte and only the DP inputs supports DP 2.1, whereas the USB Type-C input and the DP daisy-chain ports are limited to DP 1.4. The MSRP of the AORUS FO32U2P will be US$1399.99 with the AORUS FO32U2 which is a DP 1.4 version will have an MSRP of US$1199.99.

Just before Christmas, LG unveiled the UltraGear 32GS95UE-B OLED gaming monitor with what the company is calling Dual-Hz, which allows for different refresh rates at different resolutions. In this case, 240 Hz at 4K and 480 Hz at 1080p. However, LG only provided basic specs and didn't reveal pricing back then, both of which now have been revealed. The 31.5-inch OLED panel used doesn't really stand out from the crowd with a typical brightness of 275 cd/m², a color depth of 1.07 billion colors (10-bit panel), a contrast ratio of 1.5 million to one a gray to gray response time of 0.03 ms and DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification.

As far as connectivity goes, some of you will be disappointed, as the 32GS95UE-B only sports DisplayPort 1.4 as well as HDMI 2.1. There isn't even a USB Type-C port on this monitor, instead a USB Type-B input and standard USB-A outputs, as well as a headphone output is all you get. LG has also kitted out the 32GS95UE-B with what the company called Pixel Sound speakers, i.e. the speakers are hidden behind the display panel. Both FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync compatibility is included, as well all the usual gaming features you'd expect. LG also includes a stand that supports tilt, height, swivel and pivot adjustments. In the US, the 32GS95UE-B comes with a two-year warranty, a US$1399.99 price tag and a mid-April shipping date.
