PNY Showcases New NVIDIA Quadro FX 380 LP at Autodesk University

PNY announced today that it is premiering its new NVIDIA Quadro FX 380 LP (Low Profile) by PNY professional graphics solution at the NVIDIA booth (#319) during Autodesk University. PNY will be demonstrating the NVIDIA Quadro FX 380 LP powering Seneca Data’s Nexlink workstation running Autodesk AutoCAD. That is the card ole dude in another thread posted about. Except they called it a GT 310 or something.

Anywho, LP design, good wattage use, and awesome for CAD work, which I do. Price should be pretty reasonable too.

if it has the same specs as the 310, then it would be usefull only for 2d cad...

Am I alone in wondering what benefit Autocad could possibly have for a highend Quadro card?
I mean Solidworks 2009 I can understand which runs like a dog and is very heavy on visuals in it's current iteration, but seriously, Autocad?

I know several cards and even drivers exists specifically tailored to Autocad but I ask why is it even needed?
