But seriously though, this one looks nice and compact + it's to DVI instead of VGA.
Only worth it if it cost ~US$20, like the DP->VGA adapters though (some of which work up to 1920x1200). Not gonna pay 100 bucks for nothing, just because it's a different port.:nutkick:

Yeah, if PowerColor sold their cards with this for no extra cost, I'd buy one.
I think there just was no such thing when the HD5000s were originally released, thus them not including them with from the start.:ohwell:

Well that's why Sapphire made the 5770 Flex, which has the adapters with it and doesn't actually need active adapters, but yeah I totally agree. We paid a buckload for the likes of 5870s. I can't see why they couldn't throw in a $5 (that's probably how much it's actually worth) for free in the box.

it should be heavy for the little plastic connector of the hd5k , i would have like them to make an extra-large connector that would screw&connect on the two dvi of the 5970 . one dvi being tagged to say where is the connector outputting the sound with use of hdmi connector .
for the eye6 infinity then someting like the powerjack

I wonder how this thing works. From what i understand active adapters need extra power through a USB connection which is absent in the pic....And the power is needed to convert the signal into properly clocked fully-fledged digital signal. I dunno I might be wrong.

IIRC AMD/ATI figured out a way to output single link DVI signals through the DP port.
