Arctic Cooling Releases the Arctic Hub

ARCTIC is launching a new 4-port USB hub today - ARCTIC Hub - to expand single USB port into several ports so users can connect more devices to a host system. Since most new devices are integrated with USB connection nowadays, running these devices with ARCTIC Hub is very handy.

The ARCTIC Hub is designed as an umbrella shape to fit different sizes and shapes of USB sticks in different angles. An additional port on the top can be used to fit bulky shape of USB sticks or even ARCTIC Breeze Mobile! Its super lightweight and compact design is ideal for frequent travelers to use as a secondary charger for mobile phones and MP3 players.
High Versatility and Fast Connectivity
The ARCTIC Hub works seamlessly with standard USB 1.1 and 2.0 devices. It can transfer files at speed up to 480Mbps. You can rely on this versatile hub in bringing uncompromised connection and speed for transferring files. This hub can also be used as an extension for limited USB ports on notebooks and PC cases to fit all must-needed peripherals, such as USB stick, card readers, wireless mouse or keyboard, headsets, and notebook cooler. It is very convenient to leave the USB hub on a desk for quick peripherals connections.

"I got an ARCTIC Hub for my notebook at home and I really like the simple design of this hub", says Kei Chan, Marketing Executive of ARCTIC. She continues, "My notebook only came with two USB ports and I often find it is a hassle for me to unplug my usual devices, such as notebook cooler, when I need to access my memory cards or USB sticks. With the ARCTIC Hub, I can enjoy the flexibility in connecting any USB devices anytime. The shape of the hub allows me to connect my bulky shape USB stick so it would not collide with my desk. I even use the top port for my ARCTIC Breeze Mobile!"

The ARCTIC Hub comes with a 2-year limited warranty. It is already available in the market. The MSRP is US$14.95 / 10.50€, excl.VAT.

I don't really care what a hub looks like if it accomodates large USB devices (fat old sticks), but why is this not 3.0 ?

maybe it can, but with a firmware update in the future. who knows. USB 3.0 would make it stand out from the crowd a lot more then looking like something Batman unclipped from his belt to throw at a criminal.

hardly - TPU reviewed one. i think they are made with a really soft rubber or plastic. and since the max votage is 5v from the USB, it will hardly drive the fan fast enough to do any serious damage,

your more then likely to do a lot more damage by poking yourself in the eye then one of these spinning fans will ever do. unless your mentally unbalanced, into self harm and at the same time retardedly serious about hurting yourself that you turn 'Macabre' and must find millions of ways how to hurt yourself in the most stupidest ways possible.

Im not saying that the spinning fins wont cause any damage - but within in reason. If you have small children running around, then this fan might not be 100% safe as it may hurt them.

Gotta have the right chip in it to be 3.0; pretty sure a firmware update can't do that.
