Razer Intros Goliathus Extended Series Mouse Surfaces

Razer unveiled a pair of gigantic mouse mats under the Goliathus Extended series. The most peculiar thing about these is its "extended" width of 920 mm (36.2"). Available in two variants: Control and Speed, Goliathus Extended measures 920 x 294 x 4.3 mm. The Control Edition variant features a heavily textured surface that provides maximum control, while the Speed Edition features a more smoother cloth weave for swift movements. The pads are rubberized below for grip with the surface they're on. Both are limited edition products from Razer, with the company making just 10,000 pieces of each variant. Both are priced at US $39.99 from the company's online store.

That would actually make a nice wrist pad/rest.. but for an actual mouse pad... that thing is huge.

Precisely what I was thinking. Perhaps it's for people who keep the mouse at a low dpi  Here's how I work and game too - and I used to think that the razer mantis mouse pad I got for free with my mouse purchase was enormous.....

I would love one of these.... if it had a solid base to it, the size makes it perfect for people like me who like the keyboard and mouse on their lap but as it is soft it becomes an instant fail as i need something solid to rest the keyboard and use the mouse on :(

Your keyboard sits ontop of the non pretty bit, probably just gives it a bit of grip.

That or this is more ULTRA ULTRA wide monitors lol

I use two Razer Sphex pads, but mind you they are extremely thin and not 36" together. I use one under the keyboard and mouse both, it gives a little padding to rest my wrist on when typing. It does add comfort. I am not sure if it would in the case of a Goliathus since they are a softer and thicker pad.
