It may have improved Rage stability and performance but this is the second time "Display Driver has stopped working" crashes occured playing Dragon Age II: Mark of the Assassin. :(

Is your card overclocked? If so I'd go there first.

AMD itself wrote to use this "preview driver" only with Battlefield 3 and Rage and is not supposed to be used as your default driver for other games and/or applications. Hopefully a new official driver will be released soon. After having finished Rage, I uninstalled the Preview driver and roll back to driver 11.9 and Profile 11.9 Cap 2.

No, it's underclocked to Radeon 5850 specs. The game crashed on 11.5 drivers but never with "Device Driver stopped working" pop up.

I use 11.9 drivers with the latest cap profiles and just put the opengl dll in the RAGE folder. Rage performance is flawless with everything maxed and tweaked for higher quality, all other games are smooth as anything.

Maybe try that?

EDIT -Just put this file in the RAGE folder and you can then use any drivers you want
