The Most Pirated Games of 2011

Today Kotaku is reporting the top 5 games pirated for major platforms this year according to TorrentFreak. As usual the PC platform is the most guilty almost doubling in pirated copies then its competitors.

Some of the titles listed are not surprising but the lack of a certain title filled with dragon slaying is. Why Skyrim didn't make the top five is anyone's guess. Either Steam is in fact the most user friendly DRM or people just love Skyrim. Either way this is just a small glimpse into the world of pirated software.

Top Five Pirated PC Games

1. Crysis 2 (3,920,000) (March 2011)
2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (3,650,000) (November 2011)
3. Battlefield 3 (3,510,000) (October 2011)
4. FIFA 12 (3,390,000) (September 2011)
5. Portal 2 (3,240,000) (April 2011)

PremoGSAll of them suck except for BF3, so IDGAF.
All you seem to do is post negative crap. Thats your opinion.

I think all of those games are pretty good. I don't play fifa but I don't like soccer. Still is probably a good game.

jpierce55Portal 2 was not even an expensive game. It is odd. Dumb pirates.
Pirates pirate not because games are expensive or cheap. Pirating is a lifestyle.

DrPepper1. Crytek fucked us PC gamers over.
2. To be expected.
3. Release dates varied between countries despite the digital release. Most who pirated it, did so as they had a pre-order.
4. No excuse
5. No excuse
How so?

ditto

My comment was pirates are stupid, not pirates are stupid for pirating a cheap game. I don't support pirating in any way, shape, or form. It raises the prices for the rest of us that do pay. What people need to realize is these companies want the same profits one way or another, if you don't pay, the rest of us do. That is not right, but the law and what is correct rarely coincide.

I hear people make the comments about how these companies over charge them, or sell a bad product..... and use that as justification. If you buy my car for $20,000 and later realize you I only had 10,000 invested in it that does not give you justification to break into my home or garage. You paid what I asked, and you got what I promised you. If you did break in the police would not have mercy on you. If you ran into me while you were in my home..... :slap::nutkick::twitch::eek:

This numbers are pretty funny. Why do you think pirates take the free games instead buying them? There are a lot of factors that influence buying a game, believe it or not.
1. Quality of the game: If i'm gonna buy a game, it's gotta worth my freaking money, i'm not going to pay for a short singleplayer experience and then a crappy multiplayer; make a damn good game and i'll say "shut up and take my money"; independent games are good for some reason, i think you get my point.

2.Availability of the game: I'm ABSOLUTELY sure, like BF3 was banned, the other games are too in some magnitude; let's remember the Manhunt case, even if you got it retail was a freaking problem transporting it due to the fact it was ilegal in many places. In the other face of this, the games are not retail anywhere and they get like 3 months or more to hit the store (if even the store exist which is another problem, in my personal case there's only 1); sure why not saying WAIT FOR THE DAMN GAME, but that's right to the next topic.

3.Price of the game: You need to be realist, If your gonna sell something you need to price it fairly to the area; here $59,99 translated to our coin it's 1/4 of the salarium of an average person; you know what it means right? i'm not gonna buy stuff when it implies stop eating or going from home to job and viceversa.
These are the mainly points why people pirate games, even when it is you can consider it a "lifestyle" people don't do it on purpose they do it cause it's sometimes the only way to get one product.

+1 TO STOP BLAMING THE PC GAMERS, THE MOVIES, MUSIC AND EVERYTHING ELSE DOES WITH INCREDIBLE PROFITS, SO GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR ASSES.

wolfI don't believe those numbers are accurate for a second.
They are from a site (which should be cited) "torrentfreak" who actually make accurate tables of statistics about the downloading world unlike the cretins in the entertainment industry.
