According to Shacknews, PC gamers will be blessed with another incarnation of the Resident Evil franchise this May 18th. In typical Capcom fashion the console versions will be out a few months earlier on March 20th. Those who wait for the PC version will get increased visual fidelity and NVIDIA 3D Vision support, so you can weigh your options accordingly. ORC features a four-player campaign and eight-player online team battles in the middle of the titular city. Capcom has no plans to release a demo of the game. For canon nerds, it does take place between the second and third games, but Capcom is careful not to put too fine a point on that. Producer Masachika Kawata recently called it a "world of what-ifs," so the publisher clearly isn't ready to put this stake in the ground as an official part of Resident Evil's history. No word of a PC benchmark as of yet.

I hope i'll one day be able to play a first person Resident Evil. Something like Left 4 Dead, just with proper zombies. Nothing beats the in the face experience. Observing someone being bitten by a zombie from behind and above is not that shocking. That's why i fancy Left 4 Dead and the awesome They Hunger over any Resident Evil.

What's even better is that apparently this is either "inspired" or being done by the same porting team that did Lost Planet 2, which is excellent if true. Lost Planet 2 on PC had one of the most complete PC porting experiences I'd ever seen. It had a litany of DX11 technical options and was stable/almost impossible to crash as long as your GPU was up to the task. And I still lament to this day it not being used very often in benchmarks of the latest GPUs. It's DX11 mode maxed out is still relatively brutal on GPUs that can't hack it. I consider LP2, DMC4 (another Capcom port done in the same quality vein as LP2) Saints 3rd and maybe Darksiders on PC as the quintessential examples of multiplat porting done right. Any game that aims to imitate the porting quality of these titles is a game to watch for.

Its still cheaper than what we pay in Australia per litre. I have to pay around 175cents per litre for premium gasoline/unleaded.

That game was surprisingly really good. I was left impressed.

Ahh the originals...where zombies were undead, not parasite infested...and bad acting made it seem all that much more fun! Gas price is relative to the period the game was from. That literally was the prices back then. Heck where I live, they were even lower. Got to sub .80c per 9/10 here.
