GIGABYTE Announces GS-R12PE High End New Generation Rack Server

GIGABYTE introduces its latest dual socket 1U rack server based on Intel's brand new Xeon E5-2600 generation. With the significant computing speed boost brought by these new processors, the GS-R12PE deploys powerful computing capabilities which, coupled together with a large and fast memory platform, makes it an ideal product for cloud computing and speed demanding applications such as finance or oil industries.

With up to 8 cores / 16 threads per socket, TDP up to 135W, cache size increased up to 20MB, increased QPI frequency, and doubled inter-socket QPI links, this new Xeon generation brings a significant increase in computing power for demanding server and datacenter applications.
Suitable for Memory Intensive Applications
With a 4 channels per socket and 3DPC memory architecture, a support of up to 768GB DDR3 memory, and a platform of 24 RDIMM/ECC UDIMM, the GS-R12PE provides the adequate support for memory intensive applications.

Support of PCIe Generation 3.0
With the support of the latest PCI Express Gen.3.0 technology directly on the CPU, the GS-R12PE is fully configured to provide users with dramatically reduced latency and improved data bandwidth to get the most out of one expansion accessory through a full height PCIe x16 connector.

SAS 2.0 Revisions
The GS-R12PE can receive up to four SAS 6Gbs or four SATA 6Gbs devices through its onboard LSI SAS solution to benefit from today's best data transfer rates.

New Generation LAN Controller
Our rack server has not only two standard GbE LAN ports plus two 10GbE BASE-T ports, but they are managed by the latest LAN controllers that unleash the fastest data rates on today's market.

Powered for Datacenters
Our rack's standard power solution is a 1+1 redundant power supply 650W certified 80+ Gold. However, for datacenter builders who are always more concerned about reaching the highest power efficiency throughout their infrastructure, we offer an optional 380 VDC power supply that significantly reduces the voltage losses between the power distribution unit and the rack's power supply. This system also uses fewer components, which improves its reliability, and therefore occupies less space in the rack.

Was just about to get excited about this then saw it is just another boring home pc dual cpu motherboard labeled as server motherboard. :banghead:

Was hoping (from the small preview pic) that it is something similar to multiple PCI-e slots that each can take dual cpu's per "PCI-e" slot.

Similar to loading 8x or 12x dual cpu modules into 1 main motherboard.
One day there would be ...... :toast:
