Philips Launches Frames Headphones

Philips today launched a line of headphones that's as cool as your favorite pair of sunglasses and as stylish as a trip down the catwalk. Called Frames, the headphones - which feature a compact, foldable design - offer total sound immersion from a closed acoustic system and premium drivers, while making a clear fashion statement.

"Headphones have become a fashion accessory," said Alexander van der Heijden, consumer marketing for headphones at Philips Lifestyle Entertainment. "With Frames, we took our inspiration from premium sunglasses. At the same time, Frames is more than just a 'flashy' design. These headphones are carefully engineered to reproduce clean, detailed and natural sound."
Frames features 40mm premium neodymium speakers for balanced, precise sound and pre-tilted ear shells that fit virtually any ear, offering a sound seal that immerses you in music. A lightweight construction, combined with soft on-ear cushions that hug the contours of your ears makes the headphones comfortable enough to wear all day. And like a pair of sunglasses, the 'frame' folds and the headphones can be stored in their chic carrying pouch when not in use. Frames also include a built-in microphone so you can easily switch from listening to music to taking phone calls.

Frames comes in three elegant and timeless colors - black, white and tortoise shell - and are available in September for a suggested retail price of EUR 89 for the black and white versions and EUR 99 for the tortoiseshell version.
