X2 Releases the Thermica Thermal Interface Material

Introducing the latest addition to the X2 series of high performance pc hardware and accessories, the X2 Thermica is a high performance, composite thermal interface material designed to maximize heat transfer from processors to heat-sink enabling you to get more cooling performance!

The high viscosity formula efficiently fills invisible surface imperfections to improve contact and thermal conductivity. The supplied 0.5g syringe is sufficient for 2 processor cooler installations. The X2 Thermica is a must have for every PC enthusiast. X2 - All geared up!

I hope it's available at home as well. I'm using Arctic Coolong Ceramique for now. Mainly for 2 reasons: first it was cheap when I got it and 2nd it's not conductive, and even if I mess up something on the outside- I am safe :D

DON'T MIX Arctic cooling (who is Arctic now) and Arctic (who is not Arctic at all !!! ) the 1st one is a Swiss brand known for the MX-4 (which is widely recommended and non conductive) the second one is famous for the Arctic Silver 5 (who is conductive) ...

0.5g... meh? i think it will not beat the MX-4 from Arctic(cooling) in 4g syringe (for the price/quantity and for the price/perf ratio... )

I am not sure I understand what do you mean. I have this one: www.arcticsilver.com/ceramique.htm - and I got it for 3 euros. So, what are you saying is that this company: www.arctic.ac/eu_en/products/cooling/vga/accelero-hybrid.html is different from Arctic Silver? I didn't know that.

i am referring the Arctic Silver 5 who is conductive not the Ceramic :) it is another product from Arctic

Yes Arctic Silver and Ceramique, etc. are from one of the original TIM suppliers named "Arctic Silver" and all of their TIMs work great IME. The MX stuff is from a different company called "Arctic Cooling". Their stuff is OK too but over rated based on many test reviews. In fact any of the top ~25 TIMs will deliver the same temps within 2 degrees C so pick whichever one makes you happy as their is no significant difference per many tests. The severely over priced and difficult to use metal compounds may lower temps another 2 C but they are a real PITA and can result in CPU/cooler damage when you try to dismount the cooler.

TIM is a fanbois deal like most PC stuff. Almost no CPU/APU is going to OC or run any better or longer with a 2 degree C temp diff. Gullible people buy into the marketing hype and that's how many companies sell essentially the same products.

well at last Arctic.ac don't do insane pricing for less than 1g ... price to perf they aren't overrated :D and yes 2° don't do a thing but the price/quantity ratio yes (if you have multiple pc or if you do lot of hardwares swapping/test)

You can buy Arctic Silver products very reasonably and they work as well as any others. In fact testing has shown that mayonnaise works pretty well but it's not a good long term TIM. Only a fool gets duped by the advertising hype. One $5 tube of Arctic Silver TIMs should last for about 20 CPU mountings if you use it properly to just fill the minute scratches in the surfaces of the heatsink and CPU. If you can't see the metal surfaces thru the TIM, it's too thick.

don't worry for me :D i did countless TIM test (spreading quality, °C differences and other) and the MX-4 is still the one who stand out in all the test i did (CPU/GPU altogether) i am not saying Arctic silver is bad or whatever ...

but for me it's MX-4>Prolimatech PK-3>Thermalright Chill factor 2>Scythe bundled TIM, i tested the AS5 and ASC but price to quantity : the MX-4 still has the crown its the cheapest where i live : 8-11chf depending the retailer for a 4g and the AS product start at 15chf for a 1g and 19.50 for a 3.5g

i am not basing my opinion on review and advertisement of the package, but on personal experimentations. so i prevail :pimp: my opinion is above all other but only concern myself ;) tho it can be taken in consideration sometime :ohwell:

oh ... i have to test it ... a 3.5g is 11.50chf at Aquatuning.ch ... still 16W/mK humpfff if it's like the W/mK(who is in fact a W/m°C) of the PK-3: 11.3 who is above the MX-4 but don't give any difference with it, then it's just a number on a box ...
the MX-4 does 8.5W/mK

talk about Coolaboratory Liquid Pro, instead of that Phobya ... ;) 80W/mK but at what price (tho the Phobya is cheap enough for me to give a test)

Pros :
you can expect up to 20°c temp improvement for "on die" cpus / gpus (on die = integrated heat spreader -IHS- absent or removed)

Cons :
-Coolaboratory product is 100% conductive, be extremely carefull when you apply it.
-liquid metal technology used in this product reacts badly on anything but 100% copper HS. Aluminium HS are strictly forbidden.
-With time (~6months) , the product dries and tends to solder your HS and you cpu/together.
-Even after successfully removing your HS (admitting you did not break the socket or the cpu during the process), both contact surfaces will have metal concretion everywhere, which are extremely hard to remove. At that point, the cpu die / IHS / HS surface will be uneven
-No options but sanding the CPU, which voids warranty.

indeed :) this is mainly why its not in my top 4 :D and also the meaning of my "but at what price" i wasn't meaning money by it :roll:
