Samsung Announces the SD850 Business Monitor

Samsung Electronics introduced the premium SD850 Business Monitor for the professional B2B and performance consumer markets. The SD850 combines rich functionality with superior picture quality, all exquisitely designed to deliver a deeper viewing experience. With the SD850, professional customers can be more productive and deliver higher quality work.

"The SD850 redefines the upper limit for enterprise-level monitors. We have designed the monitor to empower users that demand the most innovative display technology possible for producing their highest quality work," said Seoggi Kim, Senior Vice President, Visual Display Business, Samsung Electronics. "The SD850 delivers the form, functionality and features that set a new standard for business monitors, and its sleek, ergonomic design perfectly complements the stunning quality of the display."
The SD850 has 2560 x 1440 wide quad high-definition (WQHD) resolution, twice that of Full HD, with a 178° viewing angle. The monitor can display over one billion colors, incorporating 100 per cent of the sRGB color space. Its approximate 3.7 million pixels offer deep and rich image detail for a more realistic picture. Aimed at content creators, programmers and those in financial services, the monitor can not only display picture-in-picture in 720p, but also picture-by-picture to display images from two separate sources, such as a laptop and a desktop PC.

Samsung has reshaped the viewing experience with a design that draws viewers' eyes to the screen thanks to its thin bezel for a less distracting, more immersive experience. The central axis design of the stand allows the viewer to adjust the screen's height, as well as tilt it back and forth, swivel it from side to side, and pivot it at 90° for vertical viewing. The reverse of the monitor has a clean back for a more professional look.

Samsung is committed to being a responsible corporate citizen. The SD850 has an Eco Light Sensor that adapts the brightness of the monitor dynamically according to available light to save power. The monitor also has an Energy Star rating of 6.0 to ensure efficiency. The materials that make up the SD850 have also been TCO Certified.

The S27D850 will cost 599 EUR and the S32D850 699 EUR.
This is according to Guru3D.

I would really want the 27-inch but is a bit too expensive for my taste. Around 400-450€ and i would buy it.

If you consider the relatively disappointing resolution inferior to UltraHD, 4K, then I think it is fair but price looks high.

Disappointing offer anyways, I would prefer 4K all the way...
