GELID Launches Tranquillo Rev. 3 CPU Cooler

Thermal Solutions specialist GELID Solutions unveils the latest version (Rev. 3) of the multi award winner Tranquillo. The Rev. 3 Tranquillo CPU cooler is a product of GELID Solutions SILENT product line.

GELID Solutions has improved the current Rev. 2 Tranquillo in several aspects. Like the original cooler the Rev. 3 Tranquillo uses 4 power heat pipes and a unique heat pipe constellation to achieve identical high cooling performance as its multi award winner predecessor. The heat pipe constellation was further optimized to prevent potential conflicts from components on the latest mainboards. The new AMD clip enables the cooler to be install in four directions (4 x 90°). Now, the heatsink can mount a 2nd fan for an even better cooling performance.
A silent 120mm fan with the intelligent GELID PWM (Pulse Width Module) control was chosen to compliment the heat sink. The new fan now comes without any clicking noise which was caused by the PWM IC in the previous fan. The fan blades were optimized and with a fan speed of min. 1000 rpm it guarantees a much higher airflow. The intelligent GELID PWM curve keeps the fan silent but accelerates the fan speed whenever additional cooling is needed. The multi-award winning high performance GC-2 thermal compound is already included in the package. Additionally mounting clips for AMD AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, FM2 and for Intel 775, 1366 and latest 1155 &1156 sockets as well as back plates for Intel LGA 775, Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 boards are all included.

The cooler is RoHS and WEEE conform and carries a 5 year warranty. "Our bestselling CPU Cooler gets an update. Both the heatsink and the fan have evolved and now
you can even mount 2 fans to the heatsink", said Gebhard Scherrer co-founder and Sales Director of GELID Solutions Ltd. The Rev. 3 Tranquillo CPU cooler is available now and has a MSRP of USD 39 or Euro 29. For more information, visit the product page.

As a quite happy owner of a rev 2, I am glad they have made dual fans possible. Why did they get rid of the bumps on the fins though? They supposedly increased the surface area by a lot.

Cutest cooler on the market, to me, and perfect for mild OC's on Intel while remaining whisper quiet... I might pick this one up for that second fan option.

At least on the rev 2 a single corsair sp fan can support high overclocks
