NVIDIA has released new ForceWare 97.44 drivers for Geforce 8800 GTX / GTS only that are WHQL certified. Click here to read the full v97.44 Release Notes.

The 97.28 drivers were 8800 series only, that didn't stop me from installing them with my 7900GT, they work great as long as you don't try to enable SLI.

isn't that pretty pointless though?
wont it just be running the same as the previouse version was concidering there's no changes set out for your card?

or is it just the needing to be up-to-date thing..... coz i have that problem.....

There is a difference, even though there are no driver tweaks specific to my card there are differences in the drivers. The control panel is more stable, as are the drivers themselves. I don't get nearly the number of game crashes with the 97.28 drivers as I did with the 93.71/81 drivers.

ok, i'll take that as advise.
i'll stick 2 my ATI X850 XT PE, seeing as i get 0 crashes. & have had no problems running anygame thats been released flawlessly.

ATI went through the same growing pains when they switched to the new control panel. NVidia just has to get some bugs worked out of the new design, but the drivers have really come along pretty quickly, I am very pleased with the progress, I just wish they would release the 97.xx series driver for all the cards so I don't have to modify them to get them to work on mine, because they areally are better than the 93.xx series that I am supposed to be using.

Good news. I was wondering about this, & if they are SPECIFIC TO ONLY THE 8800x series...
