the founders edition price is the real price..
trog
$499er$599ummmmm$699, (can't be seen as a money hungry company, so lets claim something is premium to help justify the cost while still pricing it where we want).... Announcing "Founders Edition!!" Sure it costs more for the exact same thing we were gonna sell you anyway, if you don't like it, go F*** yourself!!!By then, we should know whether the Polaris parts are sucking hind-tit or not.
We can just read the reviews and jump either way, if it looks good enough.
Meh, wait for the aftermarkets. Zotac already announced theirs.
Edited myself for unfocussed rant!
As per every gen before, the card will sell just dandy.
Not to mention in order to ASK for a extra $100+ dollars for a card JUST for the appearence of the shroud, Nvidia better make Damn well sure its a Coveted card...Sadly they did NOT do that.Thjey have lazily altered the 9XX design/Titan design, and added some flat angles.
Keep in mind these are MY opinion, and are NOT a matter of Fact.
As all tastes are based on the like/dislikes of each individual.
I personally Sought out the Ref 970's, I found them @ BestBuy , but I damn well wasnt going to pay $100 over MSRP of the other 970's,. so I Haggled BB to lower the cost, and they did.
I knew that claimed x2 perf was B.S. , but i was still a little dissapointed it was a little bit higher i.e. 35%' ish.( not sure if the x2 perf jump was vs. a regular 980, or the Ti, but regardless)
time will tell if drivers will provide a more ample perf jump from 9XX to 10XX.
