Tomb Raider: Anniversary demo out now

The demo of Lara Croft's upcoming adventure "Tomb Raider: Anniversary" is out now. The game is a complete re-make of the first Tomb Raider game which was originally released in 1996 for the PlayStation. It's powered by an advanced version of the previous hit game's (Tomb Raider: Legend) engine and takes you on a quest to Peru where you have to find the mysterious artifact known as the Scion.

I love it! The graphics are awesome, i have all eye candy maxed and was getting at least 60 fps. ( <--- see specs ) I can't wait for this one to be released.:D

what does "naked" means? (at you proc spec)
and you have kinda low proc for such a powerful graphics or am I wrong?

"naked" means i have no heat spreader on my cpu. I think my cpu/gpu combo make a pretty good pair.

hmm.. thats what i thought, and is that true that it lowers cpu temp when it is without heat spreader?

Already stuck, but don't mind looking Lara meanwhile :) Time to go 4xAA as it runs soo good (images with 2xAA) Dry Lara

Wet Lara :P


edit: not a game for me, don't have the patience to jump and jump again once you fall and those Velociraptor were (too) nasty :)

Game engine seems really refined. Runs better than TR: Legend and at the same time looks as good, if not better, than Legend.

It's gonna be a great game for sure.

I'm the proof, right now I just remember that I turned off next-gen, lowered shadows and may be something else, but what I clearly remember is that I had no problems with that game
I had AMD Athlon64 4000+
nvidia 6600
and 1 GB ram

We're talking max settings/details here and at least 1280x1024, not medium or below. I'm comparing the two games with their highest visual settings maxed out ... the way they're actually meant to look like.

And what frame rate do you consider "fine" ? To me it's 40+ FPS. 25-30 FPS is "playable".
Did you actually run Fraps to see how much FPS you got in TR: Legend ?

oh, i see. no i didn't ran Fraps, but i could tell when it is 30 fps and when it is 40 and i would say i had 35 which is totally playable to me.
but you could then just disregard my previous post, since at max settings i had a bout 10fps :cry:

On my G/F's P4 630 system with 1 gig of DDR400 and the x850xt pe OC'd I've cranked everything up to max, 1280x1024 res, and I can't believe how good it looks and how smooth it plays. I can't wait to load it up on my C2D setup and see how high I can go.
