HWBot user Joe_Cool sets new world AquaMark record: 267,877 points

Most people might think that an old application such as Aquamark cannot be used to judge the gaming performance of systems that are designed to run games like Company Of Heroes and Supreme Commander. Well, to a lot of overclockers, Aquamark is still a very useful tool to benchmark computers.

And on to the juicy stuff. HWBot user Joe_Cool, on May 31st, officially smashed the Aquamark record to smithereens. Joe_Cool got his score of 267,877 points with...
  • A lot of liquid nitrogen, enough to cool both his CPU and GPU.
  • An Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 @ 5247MHz
  • An NVIDIA 8800GTS @ 828/1134 (2268 DDR) MHz
Joe_Cool is still testing with this deadly combination, so he may smash his own record in the coming days. We'll keep you posted.

Here is the result and result details.

I got half that (see sig for exact) and I was using a 320MB 8800GTS. It just shows how much a CPU matters.

CashetiStay on topic. And what do you mean? I never went anywhere..
Hey Casheti,..I believe he is being sarcastic. You see,...this is a "tech" forum, and this story is very,...shall we say "techish".I know it may be hard to believe, but most of the people here at TPU actually like this kind of silly benchmark stuff,...including yours truly.

What happened to whats-his-face who shattered a 3dmark06 score with two 8800GTX's at like 900Mhz+ on the core? He could shatter this aquamark shizzle real easily couln't he?

such as Aquamark

Supreme Commander 3

methinks the 3 got pushed to the end of the sentence, as there's only been one supreme commander (that I know of).

Cool though, crazy OC on that proc.

That's what you'd think, but dual-setups have not even come close to this score.

I think your refering to k|ngp|n he withdrew all of his benchmark results from hwbot along with several other top members because he gets hardware sooner than most people. You can read about it here if you like www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=143117&page=8

That seems a bit ... slow? Heres mine with the system in my profile, E6300 @ 3.5ghz and 2*7800gtx:

Back on topic:

Id like to see him with a couple of 8800 Ultra. :D
