Yes its free, and so is the key. It lets you download ISO cd files. Burn them to a dvd and you have install disks. (don't mind the fact that mine were 2.6g and 1.9g downloads)
As far as usability with games. . . we'll have to see :)

Good way for IT profs. like us to see if its worth upgrading to newer versions also to see if hardware/software is compatable. Now just to see if it runs on the second partition on my laptop ;p
