GIGABYTE Wants to Water-Cool Your Memories

There's something cool from GIGABYTE, too. Captured at CeBIT this is their new memory cooling solution. Featuring a self-contained water cooling system the unit is powered by a single fan header on the motherboard and features a pair of fans cooling a small radiator situated above the DIMMs. The system features two heat spreader units which allow the liquid inside the system to move the heat away as quickly as possible. There's also a pump underside the radiator. The only downside is that only 2 memory modules can be cooled.

That design is mad, I can't make my mind up if I like it or not. Hmmm.... I like low profile WC'ing for RAM, but... o.O

Thats just to big to use for Water Cooling RAM. If it were smaller i'd think about it, but that... thats just what we call overkill.

Dear Gigabyte, please remove the metal plate behind the CPU socket in the GA-X38-DQ6. It's a complete PITA when someone has to install a cooler / water-block that has a back-plate.....talk about great cooling. Nice memory cooler.

i like the idea... ... but unfortunately I already have issues with my HSF being too big and almost covering up a ram slot... dunno how this is supposed to fit if you got an aftermarket cooler on your CPU

I just fear the day that somebody sends me a PC for repairs, I open the case and find 5 or 6 pieces of hardware I cannot identify at first glance. This would be one of them. Once that happens I'll quit my job and start learning how to play the flute instead. And I agree, overkill...
