A couple of times I forced an 8x dvd to burn at 16x. It always messed up.
How do you burn a 16x dvd at 22x and not end up like I did?
Also, I can't believe they're making that drive IDE. Even if I got it, I wouldn't have room what with the 2 IDE drives on my single IDE channel and 2 sata drives in my system. Needs moar SATA.

Some kind of software or firmware deal. I have yet to mess up a 16x burned 8x dvd :D

by: Necrofire;710853Actually you can use an IDE to SATA converter (if you have an open SATA port). Then you could use it :)

A friend of mine had an original DVD drive from when they first came out (I think it was a 4x or 8x).
All he did was update his firmware and it ran at 16x.
I thought it was a girl holding a giant DVD RW drive haha
