well it's not about the heatpipes actually... it's about the size of the fins... i think i might be migrating to TR 120U i'm using CM stacker with Scythe Infinity.... taking off and on to clean it is a pain in the arse i tell you

Don't go too far just yet. We've yet to see something beat the Thermalright heatsinks, even when it was much bigger.

This was reviewed on that heatsink website. Pretty awesome stuff. Currently, that Xigmatek S1283 is one of the best, right up there with the TRUE and non TRUE (ThermalRight Ultra Extreme)

Thermaltake, far all their faults, at least have the common sense of using all-copper designs more often than not, and not just copper colored brass. Like so many other manufacturers nowadays like to do.

I think companies are really taking it to far with cooler sizes. They should focus on the ones they have on the market now. Improve the ones that people are using. The "who can make the biggest cooler" contest needs to end sometime. Shit half of the new ones coming out wont even fit in alot of cases. Bigger isn't always better! They are getting bigger and bigger, but the performance is not really improving. -Hogan

Agreed, way too heavy, it weighs 1155g plus 130g for the fan, one won't be able to move one's case an inch without that thing coming off. CPU manufacturers recomend the heatsinks weight to be around 450g, so getting a 700-800g coolers is pushing it, but this is just crazy, especially since it doesn't perform well as someone mentioned above. Just stick with thermalright, tuniq, zalman, TT, etc

For the size of that thing it kind of....sucks...

The funs are to spread apart, thus making it larger and all but sadly it doesnt cool as well because of that. Fact is, its made the be silent, not cool. Now if they came out with another version with closer fins, it would of course be heavier, cooler, and noisier.. But I doubt it would function to well being heavier lol.

Err... this has been posted already. Its performance isnt really good, and I could blame the super thick copper bases that scythe always likes to use. Certainly its silent, but for a lower price if you want silence just get a HR-01 Plus and couple it to your rear outake fan with the duct. Better perf, lower price, lower weight.

Errr Folks this cooler is made for fanless use..... I saw it on Cebit cooling an Phenom @2,2ghz nearly passive, only Psu and a single 120mm case fan was needed. That thing isnt made for runing with a single 120mm fan. With 2 fans its getting really powerfull. To take some numbers in here: This cooler performed better then the Thermalright Ifx 14 in severeal tests. Apart from the fact that it wont fit in many cases, its the best cooler for a silent nearly passive setup. The 140m fan shipped with it doesnt give a sound at all.

Haha! Paperweight? Exactly how much paper do you want to hold down?! F**k it's ugly though, and NASA would stuggle to fit it in the VAB. But if you're trying to build a 100% silent computer and have no other concerns, why not? Any word on the price? I bet it's insane.

Most people who build dead silent rigs, don't use case's the size of a fridge... ..Check that link, it's MASSIVE...It would be good for a HTPC, but you can't fit it in most cases.

For a 2nd there I thought this was a different HSF... If I wasn't going to use my WC kit, I'd so go for this or the Noctua NH-U12P - I'd have to spray the fan shroud on the Noctua black as that pink just looks awful.
