Futuremark Introduces VirtualMark

Futuremark has just launched another interactive web based benchmark application called VirtualMark, that allows users to determine their 3DMark score, without actually running the 3D benchmark software on their system. Once you allow the web application to run in your browser and analyse your system, it checks the ORB database for submitted results which match your system specifications as closely as possible. It’s not going to be 100% accurate but with the millions of results already in its database, you should be able to find a match which is pretty close. Obtaining a common score is a simple three step process with VirtualMark which takes only a minute or so to run. You can give it a try here.Source: TweakTown

I just ran it on my E2180 machine, it gave me 2000 3Dmarks, pretty close to my actual score, but still about 200 points off.

My Xps m 1710 gets 5300 pts running on batteries, don't know if its good. I guess for a laptop running on batteries, it is, but it is small compared to you guys 10 000+ scores.
Does this compare to 3d mark 05, or 06?

What's really needed is 3DMark06.lite that only takes 60 seconds MAX to calculate the scores. The 3DMarkXX are great benchmarks but way too long to execute. Its boring.

Assuming you mean that your actual score is not as high as that, then others with comparable systems to yours are getting higher......so you need to tweak more! ;)

This is nice to get a ballpark range. Checking it out on my work computer. 3.2ghz p4 with mx440 integrated graphics :p Score ends up at N/A though.

Interested to see what I'd get on my rig in specs though. That tops out at 3300 on 3dmark03

I tried it earlier this week and got 13500. After tweaking my system, I get the same; however, in 3dMarks06 I get an average 12250. 12500 has been my highest. I think the virtual marks analyzes you system and provides a score of what your system speed and components should be posting. So for me, I got more tweaking to do; for others, you're doing something right.
