Xigmatek has definitely started their business on the right foot with the S1283! Probably most cooler manufacturers will go HDT, as the benefits are obvious (if you know how to properly apply thermal paste :P) Good to see they're pushing the envelope with this new cooler, which has one more heatpipe, for a total of 4. If the S1283 gave the Thermalright 120 Ultra Extreme a run for it's money, I can't wait to see how this one performs.

Pretty much I believe he is saying the design and style of it. After AC Made the Freezer Pro 64 and the Intel equivalent, alot of coolers started to mimic it. I think anywho :p Anywho, awesome, it looks like my S1283 only with one more pipe and a purty orange fan.

XIGMATEK is really a good brand and it sounds cool =) They have great coolers for cheap. I hope they stay that way. It could be they are cheap just because they are new and are trying to gain a foothold on the market...

Good for you, XIGMATEK coolers are pretty good. As for this only having aluminum heatpipes, that keeps cost and weight down. I'm sure they will have a copper heatpipe version soon anyway.

He's totally incorrect because other no-name companies began the heatpipe craze :shadedshu:shadedshu:shadedshu. This is total DOOM DOOM DOOM to other companies... And hat those are copper heatpipes with nickel plating. Nobody makes aluminium heatpipes because they don't work. However if I was to get that cooler I'd rip that 120mm fan and put the HDTS1283's own 120mm fan on (the 2k RPM one). Guys at TPU PLEASE REVIEW THIS :D EDIT: Whoa those heatpipes are so close to each other now! Massive base as well.

The HDT S1283 is the contender for the TRUE, well the HDT S1283 has already beating the TRUE more like :laugh:. My TRUE boasted 4*C Higher temps vs my HDT S1283. This cooler is just like the final stab. (Unless they plan to fuse all the heatpipes...)

Unles you lap it past the nickel its still possible it would isolate its thermal conductivity. Last time I checked nickel didn't absorb heat aswell as copper. I think they did it to make it look more uniform in color then. ;) The orange fan is a little like a kids toy. Higher CFM is what we need with a fan controller. Like a fan mate 2.

It doesnt. There is virtually no perforce difference that is observable due to its really really really really small heat resistance.
