MSI Also Working on a Desktop Wind PC

In addition to the fresh ASUS Eee PC competition (MSI Wind), we have learned that Micro Star International is also in preparation of a desktop Wind PC computer. The Linux based desktop equivalent of Wind PC will pack in a passively cooled 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, Intel 945GC + ICH7 motherboard, 1GB DDR2-533 SO-DIMM memory (up to 2GB), 160GB 3.5-inch HDD, integrated ALC888 7.1 channel HD Audio and a Gigabit LAN. MSI claims that noise levels will be a little over 30dBa and the whole PC will consume just 30W, even though it will come with a 65W power adapter. Expect more information after Computex starts (June 3-7, 2008).

It's gonna be cheaper than an Eee PC. It doesn't come with a screen and using things like a desktop harddrive lowers the price significantly.

It will probably cost about as much as a Wii actually

sub 30 watts? Not bad. Slap on an external HDD and you've got yourself a home made NAS box. Although a Synology is cheaper but oh well. Looking nice. I personally like MSI's mini stuff more than ASUS'. Oh, and why DO they all look like wiis?
