Unveiled in March 2008, the Aspire Gemstone Blue range features the PC market's first 18.4- and 16-inch notebook form factors with true HD cinematic capabilities.

Circuit City had the 16in one for sale for 700, but the specs was nothing as stated here, no blu-ray, no dedicated gcard, less memory, smaller hdd, slower cpu...nothing but fail. But I bet when full spec up, it would be damn nice...but pricey.
need one for college, think i found it, nice price for its features... another suggestions tho?

I had a lot of trouble with faulty Acer equipment in the past. I wouldn't touch that notebook with a 12 foot pole... :shadedshu

by: ktr;793195Yes mine has everything the old series stated except no 8600 video card. and was cheaper which is cool I have battery life if I want to play games the pc in my profile will almost game. But this laptop looks good and is plenty fast for vista and things I need a laptop for.

these Acers are easy to upgrade to first thing I did was add more mem (4 gig) and a fast cpu also t7200 replacing a t2050. But the gemstone reqiures constatant cleaning and waxing becuase its shiny like a car:laugh:
nice looking lappys a step up from mine thats for sure.
