Longtime user of the 9700LED, love it.
It was one of the first CPU coolers i came across that had the fan blowing the heat towards the back fan of the case. I know it wasnt the first invented and released, just the first i had come across at my local pc store. Sorta stuck with it ever since, thou always trying others.

Any news of the Coolermaster V12 ?

Looks to be the same, just slightly smaller with what maybe a smaller fan? Not sure if the 95/9700 comes with a 92mm or 120mm (9.2cm or 12cm) fan.

92mm for the 95 and 110mm for the 9700...:)

If *big brothers* are under EUR 35 and under EUR 45 http://geizhals.at/deutschland/a193917.html http://geizhals.at/deutschland/a217353.html then I cant really see much interest in the 9300 at EUR42. Needs to be more like EUR 25.

It looks like the fins are smaller, but the main difference is that the 9300 only has 2 heatpipes, while the 9500 and 9700 both have 3. I think the 9300 should perform respectably, it won't be the best, but it should be decent enough.

Way way way too expensive and pointless. Why not buy a 9500 instead? Or are they planning on killing it and leaving 9300 and 9700 only. Why even make this, 9500 is already so small that it fits anywhere that this would. Infact this is even 7.5mm higher!

Is it? Cheaper I mean. Those must have come down in price (while Zalman coolers stay up). Zalman's problem seems to be that they use so much copper -> expensive and it doesn't help enough with performance.

I think the price point of EUR 25 is about right, maybe 30 at the highest, I wasn't arguing with you on that point. However, you need to realize that the Retail price is almost never what the product actually sells for. EUR 42 is the retail price, not the street price, you can always find products for less than the retail price, especially in the computer world. I believe the 9500's retail price is something like EUR 50 and the 9700's is EUR 55, so a retail of 42 isn't that bad for this cooler. The street price will be lower, it will probably be in the range of EUR 30 when it first hits the shelves.

dont like how the fan cant be replaced.

Turbulence at the edges of the fan blades is very high - on ANY fan or propellor. In fact... one of the BIG bonuses of the Zalman is how effectively it uses this turbulence to cool buy having the fan within the fins and letting the air be expelled outwards not just pushed through.

A replaceable fan requires a fan in an enclosure. There is so much efficiency lost... as well as the turbulence getting trapped within the enclosure creating more noise.
