EVGA Launches e-GeForce 9800 GX2 Hydro Copper 18 1024MB

From the beginning of this month EVGA started selling its first GeForce 9800 GX2 water block - the Hydro Copper 18 waterblock with a 100% copper design and SLI compatibility. Starting today, EVGA will start offering the block along with an EVGA GeForce 9800 GX2 video card (part number: 01G-P3-N899-AR). Regardless of the full cover high-performance water block, the EVGA card comes with stock clock speeds - 600MHz for both NVIDIA G92 GPUs, 1512MHz for the 256 Stream Processors and 2000MHz for the 1024MB of GDDR3 memory. This bundle is compatible with all 1/2" and 3/8" water cooling systems, barbs are also included in the package. The e-GeForce 9800 GX2 Hydro Copper 18 1024MB is available now in extremely limited quantities, so if you can afford to pay the $699.99 premium for it, hurry up.

Don't understand why anyone would buy this though, as the GX 280 is coming soon. :D

hmm true, beside i heard rumors that the gx2 was going to have a short lifespan.

Yeah, it seems it was mostly just a card to compete with the X2, since ATI was going to do a double chip single card, Nvidia did too. :laugh:

But I don't see the GX2 lasting much more once GT200 is out. Maybe it will be ok if they lower the price a bit.

To be honest, with that nice of a waterblock, its not that bad. considering the card goes for 600 bucks alone.

That looks sexy. Not a viable option for me, but if i walked past a pc that had a pair of them i would stop and have a look.

If this waterblock with card solution was offered by EVGA when the card was officially released, it would have been a success. This always happens! You guys are right, with the new card series comming from both AMD/ATi and Nvidia there is no point in wasting your money on outdated technology.
