*sigh* I hate this marketing garbage. there is no such thing as Mac specific memory. Any ram conforming to Jedec specs will work just fine.

Agree :) But I find $250 a reasonable price for FB PC2-6400 2x 2GB kit. Use it on a Skulltrail if you like.

These are targeted at MacPros. MacPros are not overpriced. To build a dual cpu workstation yourself, with equivalent parts and features, it costs almost the same. If you go to Dell or any other OEM, it's more expensive to buy a dual cpu workstation, and you get less features.
