Reports by TG Daily suggest that NVIDIA could release a WHQL-certified stable release PhysX driver that supports all capable GPUs GeForce 8 series thru 9-series and GTX 200 series. The driver would expand driver-level support to all PhysX-based game titles including the likes of Ghost Recon 2: Advanced Warfighter, Warmonger and Cell Factor: Revolution.
It is expected that downloads of free games such as Warmonger and Cell Factor could spike in August since the user-base of PhysX substantially increase then. The driver is expected to be out on the 5th of August.

by: Tatty_OneYes, you would get PhysX with GRAW.
So let me see if I can get this right (not particularily upto speed with PhysicsX, although I have GRAW2), if I download and use the new drivers, coupled with my G92 GTS I can get PhyX outta GRAW?
If thats the case, would I need to un-install the Ageia software that auto installs with the game?
You shouldn't need to uninstall the Ageia software that comes with the game, this driver will just update it. However, sometimes, if you already have the Ageia software installed, you need to copy some files over to the game directory to overwrite the ageia stuff and force the game to use the new driver.
by: Tatty_OneHeh, didn't figure you to be a 'price point' man Tatty. You know the 4870 can't handle texture loads like the 280 can.
IMO this is another thing thats sways me from buying the very good HD4870 to the GTX260 or 280, nice to have some postive news from the green side!
Buy one bud, it's worth it. GT300 could be six months away.
God forbid we need to buy ANOTHER power supply. Anyone want to take bets on the amp draw 60 for a single card? hehe
sounds good to me ,ill be waiting for these new drivers as i really coudlnt be bothered messing about with modded drivers.
something to cheer about at last after all the recent excitement over ATI's new stuff.

by: newconroerNo these days it's more "what I need", I am going to upgrade to a 24 inch monitor so need something that will play all my games smoothly at that res.....TBH the 4870 will probably fit the bill, I was considering two GTX260's.......I have given up the days of trying to stay in the top 3 or 4 in every bench! It gets boring after a couple of years, maybe after a few months away from benching I will get renewed energy :o

You may not need to modify any drivers depending on your hardware.
I have an eVGA 8800GT 512MB SC G92 card which was not supported in the initial run (modifide inf was needed). After installing the beta 177.66 drivers and the nVidia PhysX pack indeed PhysX was active. I did not have to modify any drivers like what is necessary for the 177.39 and earlier drivers.
Basically it just worked which was an indication to me that nVidia was making advancements. I would also suspect that leaked beta drivers will increase the number of supported cards in the near future before the final qualifying drivers are released
Anyway Unreal Tournament 3 with new nVidia PhysX MOD pack (yes they released an updated version for UT3) works as expected on my system and I look forward to more titles in the near future.

Good to hear. Wonder when they will be claiming to work with ATI cards.
so we will gain fps in games that use physx? like crysis?
I have a Quadro FX 3600M in my laptop, which is a G92M chip.
This new driver should also work for my laptop, right?

The drivers should work... I'd suggest throwing it to Pagalms or the GTX 260/280 teaser driver thread... I know there is a list somewhere for it. All you need is the modded .inf file. But, Driver 177.66 don't need the modded .inf... Just go to Guru3d and grab them and install.
they must say all nvidia gpu , not all gpu's
by: hayder.masterWhy? it's NVidia saying it, would anyone really expect it to include ATi GPU's?

I have 1 question about Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, do i ineed to install the Ageia Physx Software that the game asks me to install, or can i get the latest version and install it without installing the version that comes with the game?
by: eidairaman1I can only speak for myself, when I origionally installed the game well before these drivers became available, I installed the Ageia drivers, since installing the new NVidia Px drivers it has worked fine, I didnt un-install Ageia...... so probably yes!
