ATI Power Express Technology and Mobility Crossfire

According to VR-Zone, ATI is going to include Power Express Technology into their future Catalyst drivers or through a separate software that enables hot switching between IGP and discrete graphics. This will allow the notebooks featuring ATI discrete graphics onboard to switch over IGP instantly when battery mode is on or when not running 3D applications to save battery power. Meanwhile ATI is going to challenge mobile SLI with their mobility Crossfire plus Power Express Technology to reduce power consumption considerably. ATi has demonstrated to their partners a notebook featuring Mobility X800XT in Crossfire fitted onto a MXM module. There will be Mobility X1800, X1600 and X1300 series when the time comes.Source: VR-Zone
