GELID Solutions, a new cooling company which has been formed by the co-founder of Arctic cooling and his associate, have today released their new “Silent Spirit” CPU cooler. This new cooler features four high performance copper heatpipes connected from a copper base to a nickel plated aliminium block of fins. It boasts high performance at low noise levels.

Some nice features about the cooler is that it weighs a mere 370 grams, has a compatibility list covering all Intel Socket 775 & AMD Socket 754/ 939/ 940/ AM2/ AM2+ CPU’s and has small dimensions of 108mm (l) x 100.5mm (w) x 125mm (h). The MSRP of the Silent Spirit has been set at USD 35 / Euro 23.

Wow, another cooler that looks like it has been hit by a bus! Whats up with these designs, I much prefer tower designs that exhasut straight out the back. You can tell its made by the people of AC though. Looks like a F7Pro. Wonder if the quality is up to the same standard as AC...
I'm suprised there is no compatibility listing for LGA 1366 :wtf:

being raised off the heatsink (space between fins and base) is a good idea. You get the heat transferred away fast, without a path to come BACK to the CPU, and the airflow manages to cool the base directly as well.

Looks like an interesting cooler.

The TDP of 1366 CPU is start from 130W~ I think this cooler is enough for 1366CPU without overclocking, so they didn't extend the socket support to 1366.
I think they should also launch an additonal clip for socket 1160 in the next year.
For 1366 CPU~ I will expect a 5 heatpipes tower heatsink with 12CM fan~

you know, i doubt it. The stock core i7 heatsinks we've seen arent 120mm monsters with tons of heatpipes, so the heat cant be as bad as you say.

Hmm... their first cooler. Will be interesting to see how it performs.

In order to cool down the Northbridge heatsink (chipset) and
surrounding voltage regulator module close to the CPU, the heatsink has been tilted specially to an angle for this purpose. Unlike other top flow coolers this unique feature stops hot air from accumulating beneath the heatsink.

Seems like an OK idea... to encourage "air turbulence" around the Northbridge and voltage regulators. But it might be just more "spin" ;)

I dont mind the tilt. Im happy its a lot smaller than the coolers I have seen lately (the latest I couldnt install with my 92mm side fan panel, as the cooler is just too large). So now I have a mad hole in the side of my case :p. (covered by a fan grill, lol)

Lets just hope this one performs well :). A review should come about within a few weeks ;)

Pitty they are so hard to get ahold of things from in the USA. I tried contacting them on a couple of their other products but couldn't get straight shipping info and they would only list one thing on ebay : (
