HIS is ready with its newest graphics card, based on the upcoming Radeon HD 4830 graphics processor, and what do you know? It looks identical to the HD 4850 Fan the company released earlier. This can be attributed to the fact that the RV770 LE GPU uses the same pin-layout as the HD 4850, and uses the same memory sub-system (256-bit GDDR3). The only difference comes with the newer GPU featuring 640 stream processors, and slightly lower clock-speeds of 575 MHz (core) and 1800 MHz (memory).

The card features a blue PCB with a 2 phase power circuit, it features 512 MB of GDDR3 memory. It uses a simplistic GPU cooler, with a blue LED-illuminated fan. The card supports 4-way CrossfireX. It is expected that the card sells for a price between US $140 and $150.

Is W1zz going to be reviewing one of these? Or any or the other reviews for that matter?
Not this card particularly but any 4830?

I look forward to it, I especially want to see how much this offers over the HD4670 and HD3850.

Don't all of these have custom PCB's as in AMD doesn't have a reference? Or was that for a different card?

I have no clue on how it performs, except for its X23xx Vantage score that's public now, but it would be interesting to see if 4830 compares to 4850 the way 9600 GT compared to 8800 GT (it did well despite its lower shader count).

Reference HD 4850 PCB should be compatible with a 4830, but I suspect AIBs are looking for cheaper alternatives. The one this card uses is the closest it gets to being the reference PCB.

Well, they're available. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&Description=4830&bop=And&Order=PRICE

Does that mean it's safe for you to release the review now, w1zz? ^_^
I'd like my brother to grab one of these instead of a 9600gt for christmas. It'll last a little longer for him. =P

I wonder how it overclocks!?

Between $140 and $150? I'm glad I didn't wait and just went ahead and got a 4670 for $79. I would've thought about it had the 4830 competed price-wise with the 8800/9800 GT, but meh.

It's $129.99. Pretty good, in my opinion. ><

Hmm -- must've removed it from NewEgg since you posted that link. No, it's not a terrible price, just not as compelling as I'd hoped.

EDIT: Nope, here it is. Hmm - wonder if two of these cards could beat a GTX 260?

No, it's still there. 3 models, all priced at $129.99.

Weird -- link didn't work for me the first 3 times I clicked it. NewEgg's probably still working on stuff, maybe.

At $119.99, I hope this thing performs better than the 9800GT(I'm excited about W1z's reviews!). But with 9800GT's going for $99.99, it will be a tough sell to get $119.99 for it unless it offers a good performance increase.

Also, the Sapphire and PowerColor cards both have $10 MIR's already.:rockout:

That makes me wonder -- can two 8800/9800 GT's outperform a GTX 260?

Probably. Isn't a 9800gx2 a couple GTS? 8800gt wouldn't be a whole lot slower. =P

This card uses the same PCB as the HIS HD4850 IceQ 4.

It's actually 8800GT x 2.

2x 8800GT does outdo a 260.

I think there are to many cards out there right now and its making it to confusing.

this card is too close to 4850
