Corsair, a worldwide leader in high-performance computer and flash memory products, today announced that it has been voted “Best Power Supply Manufacturer” by the readers of Custom PC Magazine for the second year running.

Corsair was chosen above all other brands by Custom PC’s audience of true technology enthusiasts and overclockers in the magazine’s annual awards survey. Over 4000 votes were cast and Corsair emerged as the clear winner in the Power Supply category with high scores in all areas, including ratings of 9.5 out of 10 for Performance, Reliability and Build Quality.

“This year Corsair once again proved to be the leading brand in the Power Supply market.” said James Gorbold, Deputy Editor of Custom PC. “Corsair received more votes from Custom PC readers than any other brand in the sector, and was rated highly for performance, reliability, build-quality and post-sales support.”

“Corsair is honoured to be voted Best Power Supply Manufacturer 2008 by the readers of Custom PC” said Andy Paul, CEO of Corsair. “Corsair is dedicated to designing and building the highest-quality power supplies possible so that Corsair is the first-choice for enthusiasts and consumers worldwide. Custom PC’s technology-savvy readers understand the importance of using a high-quality power supply and to again be selected as their manufacturer of choice is a testament to the dedication and expertise of Corsair’s engineers.”

Enthusiast-class Corsair power supplies, such as the critically-acclaimed HX1000W, are engineered and tested to the highest standards using Industrial Grade components. They are qualified to operate at 100% load at an ambient temperature of 50°C, guaranteeing stability and reliability even in the most demanding PCs. Corsair power supplies are backed by a 5-year warranty. Complete customer support via telephone, email, forum and the Tech Support Express helpdesk are also available.

Technically manufacturer is someone who uses tools and labor to transform raw materials into finished goods on a large scale. I think that a PSU made from CWT or Seasonics shall be considered as "raw material" and final product is Corsair branded PSU. Corsair is real good at branding this year according to Custom PC Magazine.

I love my Corsair 750TX. I liked my Antec before it but I think this one is even a little quieter. I like the color scheme (even though you don't see it) and the cord management that came with it (pretty standard I know but still nice).
BUT I think what put them over the top was those cool felt bags they came in!

While true I think Corsair has some say in how the PCB is laid out and what goes on it. I believe that is how it works. This is what makes theirs different from Seasonics own branded PSUs.

EDIT
Oh, I'm sure Corsairs customer support may have had something to do with this : ) I've only had to use it once but it was easy and helpful!
