NVIDIA Brings the World's First Quadro FX 5800 4GB Graphics Card to Market

Uh no. Quadros only slightly have an edge compared to their normal equivalent and quite frankly, the only people who buy it are those corporations who don't know the difference between the normal cards and the Quadros-a lot of the time they think the Quadros are far better when they are not!

I think the usefulness of the Quadros for stuff like CAD and Adobe Premier CS4 is rather limited as the HD4xxx series does CAD better and supports Adobe Premier CS4 acceleration (and afaik the Geforce cards dont).

I don't get it. Why do these people not realise how much they're getting ripped off?

you can compare it with 4x9800gx2 or 4x4870x2 , cuz this is a workstation card , this card have a special option which make card very expensive and no game card like it , you can compare it with ati FireGl workstation card

It's not limited to the HD4xxx or the FireGL's because AFAIK, CS4 supports Cuda.

based on a lot of the reviews I've seen, a 4870x2 farts in the general direction of a 280, and kicks up enough air to get that stench moving there as well.




Anyhow, I'm curious to see what the next installment to the FireGL series will be - ATI has been able to keep a decent lead over the green in workstation performance for a very long time now . . . I doubt this will go unnoticed.
