3dfx SFFT 1.5 Driver Released

3dfx Zone has released an updated driver package for 3dfx accelerators, version 6.17.0065.0001 (SFFT 1.5), published today. The driver is based on a unified architecture, meaning the same driver would work for a whole range of 3dfx GPUs, Voodoo3 and upwards. This includes Voodoo3 2000, Voodoo3 3000 and Voodoo3 3500 cards, as well as all 3dfx VSA-100 products and so Voodoo4 4500, Voodoo5 5500 and Voodoo5 6000 cards, is on line.

This driver extends support to Windows 2000, Windows XP (both 32bit and 64bit). Apparently there isn't a Windows Vista driver, possibly due to the newer driver model. 3dfx Zone also publishes Set3Tile and Set4Tile Utilities that tweak the texture-handling capabilities of the accelerators. Wow, really. I have a Nvidia Vanta in this machine, gonna ask the customer if they want me to get them a 5500 series as they have a AGP refurb for $19 at the egg. At least DX9 compliant, then their son can play a few games.

I was wondering if somebody was gonna correct me or not :roll::roll::toast: I think im gonna make me an old system now just for the sake of using these drivers.

I bought a Voodoo3 when the first Unreal game came out. Seems there's a fan based somewhere to extend the lives of dying products. Good in wierd retro kind of way.

yeah..... i was looking for some drivers for my voodoo3 2000 to resurrect her. i still feel sad selling my 5500 but back then in most games i was using the "half" of the card so it was pointless.... anyway 3dfx still sings......
