XFX seems to be ready with its initial lineup of graphics cards. Some European retailers have even begun listing their products and pricing. While there's nothing really interesting about the way XFX is pricing its cards, the way it's cards seem to be certainly interesting. Pictured below are its first two models based on the ATI Radeon HD 4850 and HD 4870 graphics processors.
Some surprises: Both use black coloured PCB, neither are 100% reference ATI design, and in fact, XFX designed its own cooler for the Radeon HD 4850 512 MB (model: XFX HD485X-YDFC). The Radeon HD 4870 in the picture is the 1 GB variant (model: HD487A-ZDFC). Both accelerators use AMD reference clock speeds. These cards will be released within the first two weeks of this month. More information as we come across.

the 4850 look like geforce4850
The one on the left looks like an NVIDIA card! The cooler is all wrong. They probably are using old coolers and are like, o sweet we will just get rid of these!
Thats a Lithuanian retailer! You can see it here http://cliff.meleta.lt/shop/catalog/kompiuteriai/200570757_hd-485x-ydfc_xfx-hd-4850-pci-e-512b-ddr5.html price is going to be 553LTL >>> 226USD>>>160EUR

If they put GDDR5 on it, it would be a 4870.:D
Well the core clock is faster on a 4870 also. If they could keep the temps down and keep single slot cooling it would be a better deal than the 4870.
In the end you're right. I just have a hard time justifying 100 bucks more for 25MHz and DDR5 ram when the gaming difference isn't that great. Nothing out now beats the 4850 for the money.

the 4850 look like geforce4850
nvidia must be green with envy
nvidia are loosing sales due to remarking old cards and most of all the high fail rates of the g84/g86 and g92 parts(all are flawed, temp cycling kills them)
glad to see some of the nvidia only vendors moving to the better chip maker!!

They should have released this at christmas because:
NV = Green + ATI = Red. Add that up it's christmas!!!

I don't know about you guys but I really like the design on the 4850, left card. It does look like a lower quality nvidia cooler though :x.
if it does the job who cares? its black after all and inside the case it will most likely be upside down so ...
i will only buy it if its faster/better than the others 4850's of other marks or if its cheaper than the others
F yeah, that 4850 is mine
by: Dracor if its the same price but offers dbl/triple lifetime warr

Yes, its true
like with seagate hdd's, one of their biggist, if not the biggist selling point was the fact that they all had 5 year warr, alot of their drivers nolonger offer 5 and have dropped to 3....sadd :(
