There have been quite a few new releases of "semi-professional" TFTs recently.

1./ NO, they are not as good as true professional TFTs. The color spectrum (gamut) is about HALF WAY between consumer and true professional screens

2./ There does not seem to be any improvement in response times or contrast ratios compared to consumer or professional screens

3./ Pixel count, or pixel density, has not improved either

So what HAS changed? They are cheaper. Cheaper but NOT as good as the true pro screens. So what is going on? Nobody is buying the really good stuff because it is too expensive, so they are creating "budget" "Semi-pro" TFTs? Or is it that they are slowly ditching the visually superior IPS panels and moving to cheaper panels with color overdrive to improve the color spectrum?

I'm worried. Until there are reviews on the true quality of these items, IMO, it looks like a step backwards.
