Sony Adds New Carnival Colors to PlayStation Portable

Sony has now made its PlayStation Portable console more colerfull than ever, by adding four new colors. The lovely PSP-3000 is now available in "carnival" Blue, Red, Yellow and Green colors. All models are expected to ship sometime in March and sell as starter kit for ¥19,800 (about $223), or with a 4GB Memory Stick and a 2200mAh battery for ¥24,800 (about $279). Sony is also going to release special PSP cases that match your PSP's desired color.

maybe for little kids, but I wouldn't be caught dead with something like that. it's really a disgrace to the hardware inside... I perfer the black PSP, and I've never been arsed enough to get one.

Wait, how is PSP still $279?

Maybe if it weren't for all the little immature kids on this planet begging there parents for the DS, sells would be better for Sony at the moment.

Its not all about hardware. Sometimes, just SOMETIMES people like to play FUN games. Not just pretty ones. The Wii is a prime example. Now excuse me while I go back to my spider platform and play Fallout 3 maxed out.

Masterfully said. I do agree. I had a PsP once.. more like for use in the bathroom whilst taking a dump... and thats it. DS on the other hand consumes WAY more hours on my part. Pretty much what Id be bringing along in a long trip.

nintendo DS is childish and that's that. it's not about what game is prettier it's about what do i get for my money, so from a DS i get games that are the same as those i used to play on my first video game back in 1995 that used to be fun but let's face it mario has it's limits, and from the PSP I get games that are close or even better to my first pentium...so without looking at other points like aspect I declare PSP the winner of handheld consoles because of it's hardware and functionality....bugger off DS fanboys

I love my nephews PSP especially since I modded it. It does so much more than play games but the price needs to come down on it. Its like a mini ps3 so to speak, though not as powerful. Im playing Crisis Core on it right now and will move to Dissidia next :D

Ill take a blue one for 100 bucks less with the 4gb MS duo. Another thing, MS DUOs are too expensive!

Well I owned a PSP and sold it for some RAM. The PSP is WAY over priced for what it does and the sales figures show that versus the DS. You can proclaim the PSP a "winner" but you are clearly in the minority. The PSP has a "trashy" reputation for a reason.

Also this isn't a little kids site full of fanboys. This is a real enthusiast site. Even the minors on here are mature beyond their age. Of course we joke about brands and even debate which is superior but you'll end up with an epic fail if you don't bring facts to the table. You may not be here to make any friends but if you like this site its best you don't make any enemies.

Saying something is the "greatness" isn't a valid argument. Unless you're a Mod

They need to redesign the PSP. Get rid of those UCD's, put a smallish onboard SSD on it and make the whole thing smaller.

People who like the Nintendo DS better than the PSP seem to be just like the people who like the Nintendo Wii better than the real next-gen consoles. And to me.. that's the definition of "enough said."

The "next-gen" system brought nothing new to the table. They are just one step closer to the PC which in my opinion defeats the purpose of the console. The wii with its innovative controls is true next generation. Next systems you see from Microsoft and Sony will have "motion sensitive" controls like the "inferior" wii. So I ask you what exactly IS "next-gen".

Sony already has motion sensitive controls. It was available since release.
