Intel researchers have developed the world's first embedded balanced antenna for digital TV. This patent-pending Intel innovation will enable on-the-go users to watch digital television on their laptop without the need for an external antenna. Eliminating the external antenna reduces the number of items to purchase, carry and keep track of. No other details were unveiled.

Sound's great.

My Country is busy getting into the digital TV conversion (Not quite up & running yet)

Hope its as good as all of the claims I've heard, Can imagine it would be quite nice application for a Notebook to be able to use it as a general purpose TV as well (In the Kitchen & such)

Not only is this good for laptops but i can see a better potential to add this to new tv's - so if there is not an external arial connection, or if the tv has dual tuners for pip then you could have an internal arial, would be great for me as i live in uni halls atm and there are no external arial connections..

Licenses to own TVs? That's the dumbest thig I've ever heard.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this technology, not that it's new, TVs have come with ATSC tuners for a few years now.

Yes, and they actually get some outstanding programming (Top Gear, etc). Its not really a whole lot different than the tax you pay to Comcast, DirecTV, etc. Well, except the commercial free part.
