Photos Emerge of Intel's 32 nm Clarkdale Processor

Not long after Intel was said to have sent out samples of its new 32 nm mainstream processor based on Nehalem micro-architecture, someone over at XS forums, has posted photos of an as yet unnamed Clarkdale processor, running at 2.4 GHz, with 4 MB L3 Cache. The only official information from Intel we have about these processors is what we covered two months ago, when Intel spread open its plans to deal with the mainstream and value markets using its Nehalem micro-architecture.

This has the makings to be what the Pentium M was for c2d (Yonah with a modified microarchitecture.). It's like deja vu all over again :)

if these were running @ 65W, I do think are are great for servers. You can setup a full function server running total 115W with these things and find a cheap place to colocate it.
I wonder how far undervolting can go with this thing :D

I wonder if Intel's 32nm fab is as good as its 45nm fab. IMO, 2.4 GHz reference speed is very slow. I wonder if there's a bug they're working on or they didn't check how stable they are yet. In any case, it is quite a ways out yet.

1Kurgan1Nothing blazing fast, but I'm surprised it's a dual core they are showing (unless it's a quad with 2 cores off). But then for a dual core it's Super Pi time for 2.4ghz is pretty darn good.
I wouldn't be surprised if they continue to make dual core processors. Think about the speed of a dual core i5 at 3.2GHz. I'd upgrade that.

Could be like the q6600's where they were clocked slow but oc'd upto 4ghz.

these are 32nm chips so they might be even lower than 65W. They could be 35/45W.
