Yeah i had the original 'slab-o-aluminum' alpine 64 cooler too... the fan was its only saving grace, but it was a pretty awful cooler.

I had mine in my Qpack, I replaced it with a simple Thermaltake copper cooler and the temps went down 10C with the TT cooler.

should be a good for a low profile mini itx rig or something. But i wouldn't touch this for normal use.

Great if you get an OEM and want to enjoy the stock cooling experience?

Me? I'd spend another $10 and get the Arctic 64 Pro. That thing's amazing. Huge, but amazing.

I've used alpine 64's for customer builds (primarily desktop rigs and htpc's), they are cheap and get the job done. Not meant for OC'ing... that's for sure.

They have another one called Alpine 7 Pro launched for Intel. But I love Freezer series more if I buy a new cooler~

it should perform close to the stock cooler, but a hell of a lot quieter.

This looks like something that OEMs would use. Its just a slab of aluminium with a better fan.

Maybe to push stock OC further by .1-.2GHz.
