Noctua Intros 14 cm Fan & Massive New Coolers, Coolink Joins the Party With New Look

We stopped by the Noctua and Coolink booth as well and they had a few little surprises in store for us. The austrian firm is showing off their 140 and 120 mm PWM fans for the first time. They mentioned quite some time ago, that such a unit is in planning and behold the sight of the new unit. It comes with the same mounting holes as a 120 mm unit, due to the round frame. The cooler is optimized for air pressure and the use for CPU coolers. Using this unit, Noctua will be offering the C12P as well as their newest addition - the NH-D14 with the 140 mm fan. Noctua will also be offering an upgrade kit for those who wish to replace their current 120 mm fans with the newest unit.

Coolink will be dropping the blue and clear colors in favor for a bright, lime green and black variant. They are starting the new line with brand new SWIF2 fans and a new CPU cooler. This sandwich cooler will feature the new 120 mm SWIF2 fan along with direct touch heatpipes, which have been worked into the base cleanly.

Noctua still have their ugly color scheme huh. Good marketing tho, you can tell immediatley "those are Noctua fans" I like that Coolink CPU cooler, especially the base.

I was wondering when noctua would ever come out with a 140cm fan. There aren't that many choices out there to begin with. And I have to agree wholeheartedly with you tigger on those direct touch heatpipes.

I dislike round frame fans, but backward compatability is always nice to have. Finaly someone to fill the gaps, on direct touch heatpipes. Wonder how much is the difference with/without gaps?

This cooler is huge! I want it:D ...But why did they stick a round fan in there? it would look cleaner with the traditional square fans.

They are just doing this to showcase the 140mm fan that will fit anywhere a 120CM fan will.

Noctua has been amongst the leaders in CPU Cooling for a long time, they did not wait until now to become one. The 140mm fan is ideal to pull air from the forward 120mm fan and push it back to the other 120mm fan because of its airflow, plus it may be more silent than having an 120mm fan in there.

Ooo errr. I'll admit upfront that I'm a wee bit of a Noctua fanboi :respect: - I've always used their CPU coolers and love their quiet fans (urgh ... horrible colours though); so I'm very keen to see how that dual-heatsink CPU cooler performs. :roll:

Their color may be ugly, but damn they are awesome performers. I like the Nvidia colored fans as well.

I would think that they would sell more if they atleast offered black and white themes which is just good business. I am not into windowed cases n' bling anymore so I dont mind the colors. I bought all Noctua fans for case and cpu Noctua's performance does the marketing for them

Yes, Noctua are probably the best PC fan producers right now. These guys actually know what they're talking about as they have dedicated testing facilities (I read somewhere that they even test their fans in a wind tunnel!). Plus, if you take a really good look at the latest geared turbofan designs, they have the same type of notches at the end of the blades, which are designed to be as quiet as possible (nobody likes airplanes that sound like they're about to crash).

I might want that Coolink sandwich cooler. It looks like it makes use of best of both worlds. The no holes middle copper will help the heat transfer to the outer pipes too, with non i7 sized CPUs. And possibility to mount three fans is also nice =) Someone jsut needs to come up with PWM splitter cables! AKASA has sort of one, but it uses molex to provide power. MB PWM plug has plenty of power for 2 and even 3 fans (at lest the ones I'd use). Noctua 14cm fan is also nice, but it'll cost way too much. But you can get TWO Scythe fans for the price of one Noctua. Lower voltage and you get better airflow with less noise :) (or get 2x lower RPM models). Sure if you can only have one fan and want the best airflow as quiet as possible, then it's Noctua. I just wouldn't say they are the best bang for the buck :) MKmods: how big is that fan? looks massive (and great paintjob) :twitch:
