Rumor has it that chip giant Intel will be launching new solid-state drives based on the company's 34 nm NAND chips in just a few weeks time. The report claims that these new SSDs will be faster and most importantly cheaper than what we're used to pay for a solid-state drive. Intel will manufacture the 34 nm drives in 320 GB, 160 GB and 80 GB capacities, and most probably in other capacities that are still unknown for one or another reason. The drives are said to be coming out in about two weeks so stay tuned.

Intel drive or all of them? Intel are pretty expensive now, even they add a cut to the upcoming one, the others should be still less expensive. Now we have to wait until we have more information.

May be Intel switched to indilink? :)

when any company makes these things, they have contracts and deals. pay X for part Y, and so on.

When they come out with a new component, they get to make new contracts, new deals, and use new parts. So they not only get bigger, they get faster and (often) cheaper too :D

Methinks intel would use their own controller still.

Maybe $250 for a 320? Nah, probably wishful thinking.
