NVIDIA's upcoming 40 nm value GPUs, GeForce GT 220 and GeForce G 210 are on their way to a early Q4 launch. NVIDIA looks to give its 40 nm desktop GPUs the right profile with its reference designs that include low-profile (half-height), single-slot PCBs and coolers. The size and shape of these cards send out good signals about their thermal characteristics, at least for now.
Both these cards use essentially similar designs: a half-height PCB holds the GPU one one end, and memory chips are distributed on the front and back sides of the PCB. The G 210 offers DVI-D and DisplayPort connectors on the card, while the GT 220 offers DVI-D and HDMI. Both cards feature extensions for the D-Sub connector. The GT 220 has a slightly longer PCB, with a dense aluminum cooler. Both cards rely entirely on the PCI-Express slot for power. G 210 features 24 shaders, 512 MB of 64-bit DDR2 or GDDR3 memory, while the GT 220 features 48 shaders, up to 1 GB of 128-bit GDDR3 memory. Pictured below are GT 220 and G 210 and angled, front, and back pictures in the said order.

by the looks it wont be powerful. low end cards. :D
I want to see these overclocked with voltmods and nitrogen then tri SLi'ed
Depending on price... GT 220 might be my next card... that's a lot of power for a little card like that.
Bah, just realized it's 128 bit. Oh well, I'm sure some reviewer will get some hands on that card and I can see relative performance to everything else.

Recent information reported by a few sites shows the GT 220 with 625mhz core, 1,375mhz shader, and 800mhz memory. So with 48 shaders and 25gb of memory bandwidth this should be a pretty spiffy little graphics card, certainly a nice card to place between the 9500 GT and the 9600GT/GSO...but I really don't see these competing with the HD 4670 and its upcoming refresh. But with HDMI as standard this will be a winner for the HTPC crowd, they are always looking for low profile cards that offer HDMI, low power, and low noise. And if it is priced right it will be a much better option than the 9500 GT, which is just barely a better option than the 8600 GTS...
Looks like the MX440 ... :D
Looks like nVidia is trying to use up all of its GDDR3. No way in hell is 1GB useful on those, let alone 512MB on either.
I'm liking the number of new cards coming with DisplayPort... just wish there were more DP monitors available :/
by: WeerHopefully that will make them cheaper... 1GB is overkill for me but 512MB would be good for the 48sp card. 256mb is not enough... something like 384mb with a 192bit bus would make this card a winner

by: hatGee, don't we already have that? :shadedshu

Heck!they've already started trying to discontinue making cards with 256mbs of ram?
by: h3llb3nd4Don't make me more angry about this..

are they based on the GT200?
So the GT220 is gonna be a bit better than the 8600GT.. That's pretty nice, considering the size and probably the price.
by: ShadowFoldthat is making me sad...:(

by: h3llb3nd4I suggest you buy a GTX 295.
that is making me sad...:(
