Tried McAfee a few times over the last 3 1/2 years as it's offered by my ISP for free and tell ya what it IS the biggest pile of poop on this planet.

McAfee is made to kill computers i swear. I'll try it again in about 12 months just to see if it's improved not seen any thing good about it yet for many years.

Almost every computer that has been brought to me for virus removal has had AVG or Macafee on it. Go Avast and never go back.

I only use Nod32 or Kaspersky , and generally like to run a mix of both across various PC's as there's ALWAYS gonna be SOMETHING that gets past ANY anti-virus software sometimes.
