:banghead:
Been playing BF2 online for 6 days now without any problems and have 777 points then suddenly whenever i go online multiplayer IT FREEZES!!!

played on Sunday all sweet
went to play Monday night mmm ok this is what happens

Start Game up-log in online-go multiplayer-favourites-click on Xtra/ICONZ servers
loads up the game-spawn into the game-
freezes about 3-5 secs into the game when u click on the spawn point on the map, sometimes (if fast enough) lets u spawn and then freeze or cannot even click on the JOIN NOW music is going - mouse freezes up sometimes after clicking on the screen a few times.
(after complete reinstall the 1st time online playing goes for about 5 mins then the same thing happens)

V strange can play in OFFLINE single/multiplayer mode no probs

PUNKBUSTER updated via pbsetup
Gamespy not installed

have reinstalled XP and reinstalled game still happens proves there can't be a conflict with existing software.
have restored a previous working image from a week ago
have deleted norton antivirus/zonealarm
have reinstalled game and patched to ver1.22 3 TIMES!!!!
have chked with Xnet ADSL and they say all ok can still surf the net chk email etc

The thing is that I've been playing for 6 days no probs! have not done anything to PC no updates NOTHING WHY WHY WHY??

are there any major updates that happened MONDAY 24-4-06

sounds like you have tried more ways than most of us when trouble-shooting.

May I suggest one more. In your BF2 Profile, usually in "My Docs", delete any entries under Cached Servers or Server Logos. I am at work now and I can't remember the exact file. I will post it when I get home.

I was having the same problem and deleting the cached servers and favorites fixed the problem.

The other problem that cause the same thing was my Norton Firewall.
