I am planning on taking my baby pc across country by plane, and I was wondering if anyone had any tips?
I am pretty sure i know already how i am taking my case and innards (carry-on bag fits perfecto) and keyboard/all that stuff is no prob checked.
my big question is my lcd monitor? I fly all the time with my laptop, and i would like to do carry-on with my lcd, but i don't know if that will work because i am already taking my pc that way, and I would much rather check my lcd than my case. is that the way to go?
any ideas, comments, past experiences (good or bad/funny), or anything would be greatly appreciated!

Peanuts. Lots of peanuts. Don't forget lots of peanuts. I've found that its best to use as small of boxes as possible, as it leaves less room for things to shift and move around.

You could just ship it to where you are going.
And if you bring a carry-on bag full of computer parts, when it goes through the xray they may think its a bomb so warn them of what it is.

i thought about shipping it, but it's san diego to boston, so it's pretty expensive, and my luggage is already paid for :p plus i would rather be in charge of it myself
any ideas for bracing cards inside of a case/is that even necessary?
i will mos def use peanuts (lots, i promise POGE)
and warn them (last thing i want is some guys with gloves on their hands poking around through my computer. AACH!

This may sound silly...
... but I actually put my PC in the passenger seat riding shotgun in my acura.. buckled in and everything..
I can hit corners, slam on brakes, etc without a worry :)

Why, what are you hiding in your case? :p. Oh yeah and the moment your hard drive goes through the scanner, it's probably getting wiped, keep the hard drive seperate from the rest of the computer or keep the computer AWAY from the scanner. Bubble wrap is also a wonderful packing material...and alot of fun to play with when you're done shipping :D. Good luck getting all that stuff across the country.
