Im lookin at getting some brass standoffs to mount my /moBO to my case, and i was wondering if there needs to be some insulating washers between the mobo and stand-offs, i dont think so, but better to ask a dumb question than regret it later!

thanks!

Nope, most cases come with the standoffs and nothing else. I know it wont hurt to place a plastic washer in there but it's not necessary.

Kewl! I assumed the screw holes on he mobo are insulated, mostly just positioned so no contact can be made between the conductive parts and the case. I wanna get some slightly longer stand-offs to be able to run some cabling underneath, this is my first from scratch build, so i wanna make damn sure thanks!

No prob, if you do find some larger stand off's let us know. I'm sure someone may appreciate the useful info.

Uhm you may end up not being able to use your backplate if your mother board is higher than intended by the case manufacturer or you will have to do a slight mod

Why wouldnt I be able to use my back plate? I guess i dont understand how that would be affected raising the mobo a little bit??

if you raise the motherboard, both the backplate and PCI / PCI-E slots become missalined with the case and u will find it hard to fit them in, or not at all.

You could use Washers...Place em under the mobo posts and under the screws that you use to secure your expansion cards...only hard part yet somewhat easy part would be to mod your backplate...I think you would be able to raise your mobo an 1/8 of an inch before any mods would be necessary...maybe with a quick pass with a dremmel to give your backplate some top room

Both are good ideas. I think what ill do is dry fit with the longer standoffs and see whats necessary, i have normal standoffs too, so i should be ok. Maybe who knows, i may be able to have enough room underneath stock, and i wont have to do anything..yeah...im dreamin..
